I hope you're safe and sound, wherever you may be.
ok been wanting to make this post for a while. reblog and tell me your favorite bus line and why but DON’T tell me where you live
Every time I feel close to understanding the world the white kettle on my stove sounds and I rise, attending to it with annoyance and the pleasure of the unmade cup of tea. This is what it’s like to live in March or perhaps always, an unconvincing word in any context. Blue-gold on night’s branches what part do we take in the play? Whose turn is it to perform competence and knowledge in the absence of both? Unable to feel anything against the wind I know it is spring. Time tells me so. Never (equally as unconvincing) have I been someone with faith in order and human law. Love is unpredictable. Spring arrives regardless.
— Alex Dimitrov, “March,” in Love and Other Poems
i'm going to make a life i love even if it's not the one i expected or thought i wanted. and i am going to let myself be proud and grateful of what i do have. i am allowed to be proud of it without other people realizing the gravity of what i have accomplished in scale to my life and abilities. i do not need permission.
my life has gotten more interesting since I moved to sweden

someone in my life keeps gifting me unwanted travel guides

i personally know a jeopardy (or most popular quiz show in my country) champion
i've never blown up a balloon without an assistive device
i feel there are multiple correct ways to pronounce my name
i have a sibling who was born in a different country than me
my kitchen's stovetop is disconnected bc it's too close to the ceiling
none of these apply to me
multiple of these apply to me
FOOD HUBRIS BY COUNTRY america: believes their shitty local burger chain is a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience because their mayo includes onion paste canada: if your poutine tastes better than the styrofoam plate it comes on you will discover the cold rage that lies under the canadian's polite exterior united kingdom: despite thriving and unique fusion cuisines spreading from the UK to the rest of the world in recent decades, when asked to think of 'british food' the average UK citizen will start a fight over whether cold beans with a modest side of white bread is haute cuisine france: McDo Ortolan Bunting italy: extremely mad about american versions of italian food. blissfully ignorant of what happens in brazil brazil: if the scientific genius applied to making cronenbergian pizzas were applied to anything else, brazilians would all be commuting to jobs on the moon. They have pizza that can feel pain russia: obviously mayonnaise is the perfect topping for all foodstuffs, this is solved. The question is what to put on top of mayonnaise, and it might never be answered germany: less a joke than a fact: the single most produced numbered Volkswagen part is a standardized currywurst
