You are allowed to heal without carrying shame for how you survived.
you can always start making a beautiful life for yourself even if you’ve lost some years to grief. your entire life does not need to be a perfect story, and it always doesn’t have to be only good or only bad. it’s gotta be a lot of both.
“Healing is not about forgetting what happened; it’s about learning to live peacefully with the memory. It’s choosing to no longer let the pain have power over you.”
“It eventually gets better, without any sort of explanation; you just wake up one morning and you’re not as upset anymore.”
— Unknown
“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our life.”
— Akshay Dubey
i’m going to outlive every bad thing that happens to me
my future self better thank me for surviving all this nonsense
I am both healing and hurting deeply
Embrace your contradictions
it really does affect you for the rest of your life huh
there’s a shift that happens when you stop trying to escape the feelings and start learning from them. it doesn’t make the pain prettier. it just makes it yours and once it’s yours, you can shape it. transmute it. turn it into something else.
it’s awesome how we have unlimited chances to become a better version of ourselves
(Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird)
Grief really has the audacity to just keep cycling huh

Even amidst the chaos.
“Who among us would wish to be deprived of the trials if they are necessary for spiritual advancement?”
— Charles Spurgeon

He absolutely will redeem every part. There is not a thing He cannot or will not redeem. He’s better than I ever even knew.
