I think charles biggest issue (other than ferrari) is his emotional. that's what he needs to work imo. Like making mistakes when he's on the lead shows it's all psychological. This year was a big chance for him bc Mercedes wasn't good and Ferrari had one of the best cars and I think knowing this made him more nervous which is really sad, because I'm afraid next year Mercedes is back. So he will have to battle Max and Lewis, who are both giants at this point and almost dont make mistakes. Low key i'm starting to think that after Lewis retires, Russel will be a bigger threat to Max than Charles, not only bc Mercedes is more reliable, but he also seem more consistent and calm.
Sorry for taking so long to reply!
But I could not agree any less.
This idea that Lewis and Max make absolutely no mistakes is not right.
Max lost the rear a similar amount of times as Charles last season. Yes, his mistakes had "better" consequences but the mistakes themselves are the same.
Everybody brings up France which yeah is pretty bad. But what gets lost in all these conversations is the fact that Charles last season was under a sort of pressure that neither Max nor Lewis had been under in the last couple of years at least.
Both of them have the clear and full support of their teams pretty much at all times, and last season Charles didn't really have that. And he clearly felt like he had to make up for that.
And yes France was bad but it's not like he was crusing and then binned it. He was under immense pressure because that was his last chance after some shite races and he had already been undercut.
And imola his other mistake last season is something that happens. Like Max made mistakes in Singapore.
All of them Lewis, Charles, Max and all the others have their moments where they lose their cool a little bit because at the end of the day they are normal human beings.
Charles made 2 mistakes last season, Lewis and Max also end up making about 1-2 mistakes a season because that just happens.
I wouldn't say that Charles is too emotional, I wouldn't even say that he is any more emotional than the other two they just weren't even in comparable situations.
And on George, he is a great driver don't get me wrong. But the man made quite a lot of mistakes this season where he lost his cool a bit in the sense of trying stupid moves. So I don't really view George as "better" or even potentially better rn.
Honestly, and I might be biased but I seriously think that out of these 4 Charles is actually the most likely to keep his head cool especially during battles.
