What do you think life was like for Scotland when there was the British empire? I thought it'd be interesting to know about

Oh.. very complex topic. See, Scotland has a very interesting history with both opposing England yet also working together with it at the same time. The British empire is a great example of that. Scottish people inherently benefited from the British empire and contributed to a lot of the colonialism attached to it, but at the same time many suffered under it as well. Especially the highlanders with things like the highland clearances.

Similarly, I think Scotland (hws) would be the same way. He both opposes England yet also works with him countless times; one of the most glaring examples being the colonization of Ulster and ‘adopting’ Northern Ireland, who became like a son to him that he never had- an idea that was given and supported by England.

So, tldr. It’s complicated. Like most things are. I really think it would’ve been a period of internal conflict Scotland would’ve been dealing with
