Police, her mother had always told her you get in trouble…or you get lost find a poliecman. Sure she might have been like five years old but the point was still valid.

It was hard to be lost on an alien world, her translator might work on spoken language but the signs and the directions around the streets looked like Japanese on crack to her. They were unintelligible and she had no idea where the hell she was.

Smiling she told herself to just pretend she was from another city…lying to the police was fast becoming a specialty for her and without a doubt it was an acquired skill.

Here goes nothing.

"Hi..excuse me, sorry…" because that was the best way to start a conversation. "I um, I kinda got myself a bit lost, do you know the way back to the port?" Simple enough question - she just had to hope he didn’t ask why or how.

Rhomann didn't know what it was with Terrans getting lost on this planet, but it seemed to be on the verge of becoming an epidemic. One at a time, they seemed to find a way here and go wandering somewhere they shouldn't.

"You know, I could be a huge jerk and just say look up and watch where all the ships go. But I had a great breakfast this morning and nobody has tried to shoot anybody today, so I'll do you a favor."

A quick glance around and he had spotted a signboard, and put a finger over one set of symbols. If she could read it, it would have given directions already so he had to assume she didn't know the language.

"Follow those signs and you'll get there. Make sure it's these symbols. Some of them look kinda similar for people who aren't familiar."
