Bunny Day - April 5 2015, 6:00 am to ?
Hello everyone! Pocky here, looking to give you some advice for the upcoming event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Bunny Day! This is the game’s version of Easter, a holiday celebrated here in the US and other parts of the world. An NPC called Zipper T. Bunny will show up in town and hang out in your town square waiting for you to fetch him the eggs that he has hidden all over. You will need these tools to find all of the eggs:
-Shovel -Fishing Rod -Slingshot -Wet Suit
The Wet Suit must be obtained on the Island, which you can reach by talking to Kapp’n at the dock. All other tools may be purchased at the Nooklings’ store on Main Street.
Using these tools, you must find six different kinds of eggs, and bring one of each to Zipper in order to obtain your first Bunny Day item... the egg basket! The six different types of eggs are:
-Tree Egg -Stone Egg -Water Egg -Earth Egg -Deep Sea Egg -Sky Egg
The Tree Egg can be obtained by shaking trees. Any non-fruit trees in your town will do, so Cedar (the evergreens) and Oak Trees (look like fruit trees but no fruit grows on them). Shaking a Fruit Tree, even one without any fruit on it at the moment, will not get you an egg. You can prepare for this ahead of time by planting non-fruit trees in your town.
Stone Eggs will be found in rocks that have appeared all over your town for Bunny Day. You must hit them with your shovel, and then the rock will break to reveal the egg, just like rocks that contain Ores. (I have heard of a glitch where if you do not destroy all the fake rocks in your town by the end of Bunny Day, some of them will become permanent. In order to prevent this from happening, be sure to break every fake rock in your town before the end of the event.)
The Water Egg is found by fishing in the river in your town. The egg appears as a medium sized fish shadow. You must catch it using a fishing rod.
Earth Eggs are found by using your shovel to dig them out of the ground. They are found under star-shaped marks in the ground, just like anything else buried in the ground such as fossils and pitfall seeds.
Deep Sea Eggs are found by diving in your town’s ocean using a wet suit. The shadows for the eggs are fairly small and will not move.
Finally, Sky Eggs are obtained by shooting Balloon Presents out of the sky with your slingshot. These presumably replace normal Balloon Presents, which typically have pieces of the Balloon furniture series in them. These will also come by much more frequently than normal Balloon Presents.
Bringing one of each of these eggs to Zipper, one at a time, will get you an egg basket. After that, he will not except any more eggs, and you will have to eat them each one at a time to see what prize is inside. There are three possible prizes in each egg, no matter what type of egg you have:
-Candy -Winning Ticket -Grand-Prize Ticket
Candy is one of the more common prizes, and has no value to Zipper. You can eat it, sell it, or save it for the Halloween event, which requires candy.
Winning Tickets will be accepted by Zipper, and he will give you a random piece of furniture from the Egg series, which are exclusive to this event.
Grand-Prize Tickets will also be accepted by Zipper, who will give you a Zipper’s Pic in exchange. These tickets are by far the most rare, but they give the same prize every time you get one.
There really is no end to the event until it officially stops, since some of the eggs will endlessly spawn, allowing you to try and get the whole Egg set in one day. The tree eggs, stone eggs, and earth eggs will not continue to re-spawn, but you can keep catching water and deep sea eggs as many times as you like. Each of the Egg furniture pieces sells for 9,000 bells each, making it very lucrative to sell off extra pieces of furniture. You’re not able to buy the series from the catalog or the HHA, however, so if you want the series for your house, be careful about which pieces you sell.
There are a few other notable things about Bunny Day. If you talk to your villagers, they will mention the holiday, and will even mention participating, but do not end up with Egg series furniture in their houses unless you give pieces to them. Grumpy villagers may refer to Zipper, calling him “creepy”. As mayor, you will not be able to work on any public works projects or enact any new ordinances because of the holiday. Lastly, the hourly music in your town changes to the Bunny Day music.
I believe that’s everything! I hope this was helpful to folks who wanted a more in-depth and detailed guide to the event. I may also post a little special on the mysterious Zipper T. Bunny, who may not be all that he seems. But who knows? Thanks for reading if you have gotten this far, and have a great Bunny Day! /(^ x ^)\
Edit: Noticed that I got a couple of the names wrong, so I changed them. Also, if any notices an error or has a question, feel free to message me. Thanks again!
Edit Edit: I was not able to add pictures to this original post here, so I made a new post with some of the photos I planned on using. I also added some helpful links for more information on Bunny Day. Here’s a link:
