HI! SO!!! @mpathicoracle HERE TO BE A COMPLETE NERD AND USE THIS ACCOUNT TO INFODUMP ABOUT MY NEVER ENDING SCIFI CREATION
The Intergalactic Union (the name could change eventually) is something I made up about a year ago or so after trying to binge all of Star Wars in chronological order - gave up around the middle of the Clone Wars series but it's fine. It is heavily a work in progress, as there's so much to it, and, ngl, I'm so super close to making it a big collective project. I've begun making the planets in the IGU, a design of what the galaxy looks like, the planets' people. The simplest of things, solely for about Four(4) books I plan on writing (that could change too!).
I am genuinely looking for references of the following: other similar scifi novels/shows/fiction, astronomical references, sociology/theology/etc references (to better enhance the planets' cultures, races, ideals, etc), and general other scientific sources (i.e. chemistry, biology, technology, and so on). I am trying to make all of this as relatively scientifically accurate as I can, something I seriously love trying to do when worldbuilding.
I've so far made 36 planets, of which 12 are habited/colonized by humans, the rest of their own races. I do plan on having non-carbon-based lifeforms as well, so references of how that could work would be great, too!
Some of the future posts will probably seem like disorganized ramblings, but there will also be organized posts, especially for each planet that gets made, each organization (of which is the Guardsfolk, Temple of Kinest, Psy-Medica, and The IGU Council so far), and, eventually, the character's of my making.
If I can manage to make this a collective project in the future, there will, of course, be posts shared about others' people and so on and so forth! I dug myself my own grave in attempting to galaxybuild all by myself, so it'll definitely ease my mind lmaooo.
Again, the name will probably change, but I'll be using "#intergalactic union world building" as the main source of the tags to keep things functional, as well as attempting to sort posts by their respective areas (i.e. each planet will have a tag, each group, etc)
I've been using notion.so to keep myself organized, but def needed a space to endless ramble like a goddamn crazy person. if anyone is curious: i am indeed neurodivergent as all fucking hell. gimme space and worldbuilding, my two biggest special interests, and you'll never hear me shut the fuck up lol.
