@ihavar
pray to have a partner whose heart remains soft for you always.

There are two types of people, those who listen, and those who merely wait for their turn to talk
“Ammi ki bohat yaad aa rahi hae bhai…yeh bhi koi Eid hui bhai?”
(I am missing mother a lot, brother…what kind of Eid is this, brother?)
Shan Food’s Eid TVC 2015 has tugged at the heart strings of millions of its viewers. The ad revolves around two expat, pardesi, brothers with the younger one terribly missing Eid celebrations back home. The older brother, in an effort to cheer him up, sets out to buy all kinds of shan recipe masala mixes (a Pakistani brand which, thankfully, is available globally) and cooks a scrumptious Eid meal. On Eid eve as the younger brother returns to their (San Francisco?) apartment after work, he finds an elaborate desi meal and a skype call from amma awaiting him on the dining table!
The timely and aesthetic music will leave you in tears. I especially loved these lines:
likh likh ke duaen maangen gay
chal eid ke chaand pay taangen gay
allah wo khud hi parh lay ga
jo haen dur paas bulaen gay
(we will write our prayers down,
and hang them on the moon,
allah will read them [and]
those away from us will come closer)
same energy
Lies are like Band-Aids. They help in the moment but must eventually be removed for a wound to fully heal.

I understand the ‘perfect’ wedding but the perfect wedding doesn’t need to cost an arm and a leg.
At the end of the day the only thing that matters is WHO you are marrying.
Marry the love of your life and it’s already perfect.
Why buy a wedding cake for 3 grand when you can by 3 fudge cakes for 30 bucks at metro
What is marriage really like?
As my husband once told me:“You are my tranquility and my insanity all at the same time.” Jan 6, 2015 8:22 PM
Can’t describe it any better than that.
