20-something socialist woman, this blog is a sharing space for thoughts and opinions because I miss being politically active (which is on hold for personal reasons - mainly getting a degree)
I'll talk mainly about feminist theory and anything related, my positions are radical - I'd love to interact with people who share (not necessarily) similar views.

The whole ‘if men didn’t exist we’d dress hotter’ is so irritating… girl you do realise that your entire conceptualisation of the concept of ‘hot’ has been constructed and perpetuated by men. Like most of you are straight, you wouldn’t know what looks hot on a woman without being told by men; men existing are the reason why you're drawn to sexy clothing in the first place. Men aren't fantasising about not having women around so they can walk around in mankinis, get a grip.
if you're just starting to go out with visibile body hair just remember that the awkwardness and the dirty looks are worth it because at the end of the day at least one young woman will have looked at your hairy legs and thought "oh wow so it is allowed"
Man who the fuck is even looking at you people, if you're stuck in your head obsessing over every single stranger you see in public, scanning them for a reaction, maybe you should shave for your own peace of mind and shut up about it already. By the the age of 20 you should be way past petty bullshit like that

Many times, since I was a child I've been told by both 'friends' and strangers at the beach "ew that's disgusting why don't you shave".
In middle school my classmates started calling me crazy when, as they discussed starting to shave or wax, I said I didn't want to do it.
One time I was on the train with my mom and, unprompted, a young woman told her "why don't you wax her" (referring to me, I was like 20).
Since summer began, three separate men shouted "lesbian!" at me in the street, which I assume they meant as an insult from their tone.
This is a response both to you and to other people reblogging and saying "people don't even care" which is mostly true, and I'm happy about it but, as a matter of fact, sometimes they do, and the beautiful thing is learning not to care and embracing the fact that you're helping normalise something that many people still irrationally despise.
Another is that most people in the sex industry are victims of child abuse (sexual and/or otherwise), and the vast majority of people in the industry suffer extremely severe harm from being used for one-sided sex:
Woman : *does everything for the male gaze, pretends and cosplays as a little girl, romanticizes abuse of women.*
Society: "That's women's fantasies!"
funny how women's actions always exist in a vacuum and can't be talked about critically and by taking societal conditioning into account but we should empathise with incels because "it's not their fault" and "they've been influenced" and "society :((("

I'm currently reading "Chavs: the demonization of the working class" by Jones and I was wondering if any of you can recommend books/articles on the topic of working class women culture-wise (meaning the mainstream cultural and aesthetic values among them), I've been having lots of thoughts on the modest/old money aesthetics currently rising along with conservativism and classism and the bashing of "trashy" women in both right and left wing circles...
i have another bomb to throw, girls who hated pink and femininity in childhood were not experiencing internalized misogyny; it was a rejection of the conditioning pushed on us from birth which we never felt passion for and grew resentful towards because of adults’ insistence on us following the rules of being a girl. when you hit middle-high school and get more say in how you look it feels fucking incredible to reject and be openly hostile to the things you were forced to embrace your whole life. you people just don’t know what internalized misogyny is and tumblr choice feminism lied to you
