I wanted to thank you for the way you talk about people telling stories, the uncertainty of what we know and how it's fine if we are wrong - it really helped me gain perspective and peace of mind. And paradoxically allowed me to happily think Louis & Harry are still together despite things not necessarily making sense (whatever sense I would expect to make knowing as little as we do), because it's fine if I am wrong about any of it. Anyway thank you, you've made my fandom experience way better!

Most fandom practices are based on certainty and polarisation. And I am trying very hard to reject that and show that there are other ways of operating.

And a huge part of that is accepting that it's OK if you're wrong. It's hard to do when surrounded by a culture where people are very invested in maintaining that being wrong is unconscionable.

For me figuring out an alternative way to be has been a slow process (although I never really bought into the polarisation). I think 2020 was quite a big moment for me. The Umbro shirt and Louis not existing in time and space for months made me feel quite confident about them being together. And I was saying that - and responding to some anon who was telling me I was wrong. And I was just like - why would it matter if I'm wrong? By November 2020, we'd all been wrong about many more important things than the love life of 1D members over and over again.

Harry girlfriends never lied with words before maybe that's the difference to me. These relationships were based on hand holding, walking, shared clothing, media stories and a bit of anne and gemma getting involved. I always thought the women were under strict contracts where they couldn't acknowledge him publicly. Posting an elephant head to tie herself to Harry is not explicit like what Zara and Louis are doing. And she's probably lying now because they all lie I understand that but I guess I wonder why she's now allowed to talk about him in that way.

I'm mostly replying to this because the idea that women who are pretending to date 1D members are desperate to be able to post and talk about them more has been driving me absolutely fucking up the wall for ten years now.

It is a really common idea in fandom - to assume that the women want more and are pushing but are restrained by some sort of strict contracts. I think the psychological reasons why this story is so appealing would lead to very interesting places. But what I want to emphasize is how fictitious it is - how there's no reason to believe any of it.

I think it's worth teasing out the dynamic of this sort of storytelling a little bit. Because both the women's desire to engage more with Harry publicly and the reason that they're not getting what they want are being invented from whole cloth. There's no reason to think that they want more - and there's no reason that it's tight contracts that are setting the terms. As well as inventing both the push and the pull it also invents a motivation for Harry - and imagines very specific desires for Harry.

And there's no evidence for any of this. If these relationships are fake (or actually even if they're real) - we've no idea who wants what in terms of relationship publicity and how the boundaries are set. It would be just as plausible that everyone is roughly on the same page, what happens reflects the overlap of what people want, and that the driving force is mutual respecting of boundaries.

As I've been saying - there's nothing wrong with telling stories - we're all doing it. But it's really important that fans understand what there is and isn't an evidence base for and therefore how grounded the stories they're telling are.

If you acknowledge that it's all fantasy and it's at least as likely that Olivia Wilde found the elephant head funny as that she was desperate to be linked with Harry but wasn't allowed, then you're going to be much less surprised when she talks about Harry on a podcast.

I don't find having an insta fit and an England jersey for an England match watch party strange or something anyone would want to hide but we have many times seen photos be deleted because an accidental bit of unapproved Louis was in them; we have years of evidence that it's not allowed to post pictures of him without prior approval. I'm not able to confirm the deletion but it would be unsurprising to me.

maybe I should just wait on this til I feel motivated to dig up the old stuff and proper details but ...I don't feel like doing it and maybe someone else who remembers will link? As I recall it: one of the tech crew from FITFWT posted a picture from a party in Australia where in a mirror in the background you could see Louis (sitting around drinking a beer or something, nothing scandalous, except we didn't know anything about this party or any of it and never would have otherwise), which was then deleted. He went silent (maybe said smth shady about it then? idr) and then after either left the tour or just didn't come back for the next bit and at that point made a very snarky post about how no he wasn't on the tour anymore but here was a pic that was APPROVED and he was ALLOWED TO POST (along with one of the public post pics) and DONT WORRY I GOT PERMISSION.

Do I have proof he was fired or that they aren't allowed to post any pics with Louis in them without permission, no, but I feel that this and other times things have been deleted paint a pretty clear picture.

Well, the kid lives in Orange County now, so San Diego is a closer show than the one in LA. And no, of course Louis didn't spend the day with him. The whole thing is a farce.

How Cherry is Actually Related to Dylan Rieder

Dylan Rieder was an American model, artist, and professional skateboarder. Camille Rowe and Dylan started dating at the end of 2013.

In 2014, Dylan took part of a project called Cherry. The project was that of the brand Supreme. Camille Rowe took apart of it as well, along with some of her friends.

The couple split after being together for nearly three years. Although Dylan began to date other girls, Camille still always wished him happy birthday. She'd say that he was the love of her life. That she always missed him.

Dylan Rieder passed away due to complications from Leukemia on October 12, 2016. He'd had two bone marrow transplants, which are a painful processs. His friends paid tributes to him on social media, those of which included Camille.

Camille still hangs out with his friends. She had always said he was her greatest love. In 2018 she posted a photo (now deleted), captioned "Always in my heart".

It seems that Dylan was the love of her life, does it not?

If you browse the internet and articles for a bit and take a closer look, you can see that Dylan's style reflects onto Camille.

Theorically, Harry wrote Cherry not about Camille, but for her. It's not about her and Harry's story; he's singing about the love she had with Dylan, a story that it's not his. If they're friends, the more likely situation is that he became inspired to write by this relationship.

This may be why there's the voicemail at the end of Cherry. Camille may have been talking with Dylan.

This is not to debunk Hamille. This has nothing to do with Larry (antis, please don't even start because I'm not looking to finish anything). The purpose of this is to say that Cherry is actually a tribute; a show of respect for someone who passed away and was deeply loved.

I’m fairly sure she’s spoken about all of that before. But it’s always worth repeating. And it should give people pause because she was absolutely linked to Harry (even though he always said she was just a friend).

Louis had played Radiohead as his outro music a few times. Harry just went to that event to honor the lead singer of Radiohead and told the story about losing his virginity (and also said Radiohead is his favorite band). And, of course, Romeo and Juliet is a story of forbidden love.
