The X-Files Revival Easter Eggs…Did you Catch Them?
Remember, these are only just a few. Out of many most likely. With the show still having four more in the limited series run through February, Expect more to come…
EPISODE 10x01: “MY STRUGGLE”
Hiro Kanagawa, who played tentacle-sprouting Peter Tanaka in Season 2’s “Firewalker” and cryobiologist Dr. Yonechi in Season 4’s “Synchrony” (and also appeared in a few Millenium and The Lone Gunmen episodes), shows up as Garner (right), the scientist who explains the alien-inspired craft to Mulder.
EPISODE 10x01: “MY STRUGGLE”
Remember when Mulder was bored in Season 5’s “Chinga”? The sharpened pencils he lobbed at the drop ceiling in his basement office then (and in subsequent episodes) are still there.
EPISODE 10x01: “MY STRUGGLE”
Then there’sMulder’s “I Want to Believe” poster, though why that was still there when Doggett took it.. remains a mystery. On a related note, Fox doesn’t seem very happy to see the iconic image once more.
EPISODE 10x02: “FOUNDER’S MUTATION”
Christine Willes, who played FBI agent/therapist Karen Kosseff (aka Scully’s counselor in Seasons 2 and 4), plays hospital head Sister Mary (left) in the revival.
EPISODE 10x02: “FOUNDER’S MUTATION”
Kyle’s adopted last name is Gilligan, which is likely a nod to X-Files executive producer/writer and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan.
BONUS - EPISODE 10x03: “Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster”
In the upcoming third episode, airing February 1st, Mulder is seen sitting in front of a tombstone…a special kind of tombstone. Bearing the name of X-Files director/producer Kim Manners.
Manners passed away in 2009 due to complications of lung cancer.
