Refactoring Around the Sims 4
So, FINALLY, I screwed up my courage to make a deep, deep renovation of ATS4!
If by any luck, you came once to my site, and ran away because it looked too bad, please give it another try!!! :)))
I should have done that years ago but each time I tried, I was overwhelmed by the scale of the task, and was absolutely confused with .css, so I only added new chaos on old chaos, for no real result.
The more I was waiting, the bigger and more overwhelming was the job (500 pages now for the object section, for example....)
This time, I worked with methodology, and learnt real stuff about .css, not just pasting pieces of codes found here and there. I also had to learn few barbaric things as regex to help me at cleaning my old pages (12 years old, 4 different layers of html/css architecture, it was such a mess). It's still not complete now, but I think all pages work correctly (which might not have always been the case earlier this week... or even earlier in the site's life!), even on smartphones.
I haven't reworked on a totally new design, the site looks very much like it used to be. Hopefully, when all the pages will have been modernized, I'll be able to change the design more easily, just with the css (if I still remember then what I learnt here! :D)
I also took the opportunity to make a severe clean up in all the non-objects section: most of the other things were stuff I had made in the early years of Sims 4 and have zero interest. I haven't deleted them, but these pages will be chaotic (not completely remade as I did for the objects and the create-a-sims pages I kept), and won't be accessible from the menu.
Last, it demanded a HUUUUUGE amount of work and time, and that's why there was no update this week. Hopefully, there should be one next friday!
