Was it strength, he did not have the strength to listen to his heart till the very end. “ Your empathy is a strength, I think my power is a curse, I couldn't look beyond a quantitively response, always being a tactician, but failing to see the good of the world. I think I need to try and grasp humans.”

“You had one too. You were just more of tool.” She said. “You were closer to Ajax then any of the others.” She continued. “I do my best.” She said. “I was never alone.” She could piece things together with the best of them.

Designed for flight, to battle Ajax and he held many secrets and his heart bore them all like Atlas. “ You always understood, even when the other's judged you.” judged him too harshly too. “ I’m ready to try again,”

“You were taught to be a weapon you didn’t have much of a choice.” She said. “We were all given jobs when we arrived here.” She was to work with Druig and those less inclined to fighting. “We’ll think of something.”

“ I may be the bluntest tool but the other warriors grew a heart for more than one person.” He said, in slight argument, always was his past prevalent to him. How can he walk it all back. “ You always were the best thinker Sersi.”

“Mhm.” There was certain things he was right about. Each of them had certain opinions, but they had a common enemy once they realized one existed. “I imagine you have a different perspective because you were a fighter while I wasn’t on that side of things.” She said. “But yes you do have many skills.”

“ I just want to be on the same path again. Heroes, when I used to do good deeds. I did think I had to use violence at every turn but it left me hollow. The fact you still care gives me warmth.” emotional vulnerability it was a familiar struggle as the man had to be strong for the mission, “ I will help, however I can.”

A soft laugh from her. “Maybe a little.” She said. “It’s why Druig left after everything. He was right as you are.” Maybe that’s why she became a teacher again. “There is a lot to see, so it is a good thing we don’t age.” She said. “You have some skills maybe security.” Or he really could be a pilot, it would depend on him.

Impossible not to compliment, impossible not to muse wit her. Good or bad Sersi accepted him and he had told many bad jokes, but she still loved it. “ Maybe we were all right in our own way’s, the only one truly wrong was Arishiem.” He would nod in agreement, “ I thought eternity was a curse alone, but it’s not its all --- a matter of perspective. I have many skills.”

“I forgot that you can take things like that. Eventually you will feel like it’s enough, but it may take you some time.” She said. Sersi was conflicted when he said that. She had wanted that for so long and they had it before he had left. She had eventually moved on with Dane, but she still missed him. “That is acceptable.”

He wanted her., the idea of being with sersi in spite of duty and protecting her heart was gone now., he could have been with her the entire time and he would seek to get back to that, but he didn't want to hurt her. “ I don't know when or how but I’ll be there with you, at you're side, in you’re heart again one day I hope.”

Everything had changed between them. After he left her, and then he’d come back and somehow been involved. But he’d come back and now she was back to being conflicted again. “I imagine you’ve come farther then you think.” She said. “I be the Prime, but I don’t want our relationship to be like that. It’s never been about that for me.”

Changed. It felt like he had been holding onto the dream before he knew the truth, for as long as he could. Still that ate away at him and the person he was with her was swallowed by the duty he was sworn to uphold. “ Not enough. and maybe never be enough.” What they had and it’s importance was clear, but now much clearer then ever before. “ I promise to ---- be in your life as --- your Ikaris.” He wasn’t sure how to voice his genuine interest over duty.

“You were a quick study.” She said. She had missed sharing things like that with him. Watching him grow as a person. “No, that I do not do.” She said. “I’m a history professor which is something I know something about.” She had been through every human historical event after all. “I did make it so it’s kind of like it came full circle.” To have it all back was like having the past again. It was almost bittersweet.

“Helped to have such a pretty teacher.” He would reply, still trying to fill the silence with a jovial tone, even though it was hard for them. “ When I think about all the ways we used to help them --- the world felt better when we were apart of it,.” When they went in the shadows and watched the violence play out, the horror, it ate away at even someone as closed off as him. “ We should see all that there is ---- perhaps inspiration will strike. I know I need a job, I’ve just made my money under the table but I need to live like one of them.”

She knew him better then most. Had spent too long with him, but he hadn’t chosen her in the end. Had just disappeared. “No it likely will not be easy.” She said. She couldn’t make it easy for him. Not after everything, and she didn’t know if she wanted to go back. “Day by day is fine.”

Chosen to prolong her happiness on this planet the man felt as though he hadn't chose right. the mission was wrong,. they now fought their God’s in rebellion so everything had changed, “but I’d like to see how far I come in five hundred years.” His first and last thought would be her, “ I am yours sersi, you are my prime and i will follow your commands.”

“They all have their own unique words for things.” She said. “Call it the same thing in different places.” She said. A small shift of her muscles when he called her love. She had missed it in the beginning, but had gotten good at distancing herself from it. She turned and started walking down the street. “It’ll almost be like walking through our history because for the most part it’s all there.” Every single thing they had helped people with or inspired in some way.

“ you used to teach me those words and I would fumble them.” He would dryly muse though he smiled all the same, the man couldn't separate his heart from his duty anymore, only it may have cost him everything. he would strive ahead with her staying focused on taking in the surroundings, “ You played a part in that? In collecting those things because of you’re position? I know --- I know they have the knife. The knife you made with the blue handle.” that knife made in reverence to the blue of his sit or maybe his eyes.
