Friend was playing Omega Factor yesterday, so I had to try drawing him again

remember when i thought things were looking up? i got a job and my family was on the track to financial stability?
...on new year's, i got laid off!
we were staying afloat with the last of my paychecks, but we're back at square 1. we need to move out of the city and with family to keep rent lower, but moving is expensive, our lease isn't up until april, and we won't even have enough for march rent as we stand.
every job prospect ghosts me. we lost our food stamps because i haven't worked in so long(??? as if i haven't been trying to get any work at all ???). somehow, things feel worse than before.
so, here we go again:

Hey!! I’ve been holding out on posting this for too long because I wanted to illustrate other time zones to go along with this piece, but I guess it didn’t quite work out! Remember this old piece? I originally did it for the 20th anniversary of Sonic, but I wasn’t too satisfied with parts of it, so I decided to do some re-polishing so it all can look more or less on the same level of quality. Lots of things were completely redrawn (like Stardust Speedway) and it’s now available at a higher resolution than before, so enjoy!
