Phm doodle requests from twt
this is awesome and canon
Love that Ryland Grace is the opposite of so many male protagonist "heroes" in media and yet he's still so incredibly brave, resilient, and strong. That flimsy little science teacher saves the day.
But he also,
Throws fits when things don't go his way. Not a "I'm a bad bitch" destroying everything-type fit, but tossing a trash can, breaking a screen-type fit.
Cries. A lot.
Pleads. He begs.
Doesn't answer the call to action.
Shows weakness. Being a coward and being fearful are two things he defines himself with.
Doesn't end up with the girl. In fact, that girl isn't even interested and he isn't, either.
Cherishes friendship over a romantic plot or something stereotypically brave like, "I'm going to save Rocky so I can save his world." No, he wants to save his friend, first and foremost.
Squeaks. He squeals. He screams, loudly and very high pitched. He whines. He complains. He physically struggles to open a jar. He's clumsy as hell. He makes some of the least graceful noises one can make.
Is not afraid to be the primitive species lowkey.
I love him and everything he stands for as a male protagonist. Men need to know that they can be just like Ryland Grace and still be just as much of a hero and a man.
all all all
someone sent me an anon ask about rocky meeting eva and i tried to post it not once but twice and tumblr ate it both times so now im just regular posting it here
i think ryland would grow to understand stratt’s choice with time, and even thank her logic of it because it led to his meeting of rocky, but i dont think he’d ever really forgive her for what she did to him
(Ryland had to prep rocky before they touched down to meet Stratt so he wouldnt charge her at first sight)
thank you for the request :o)
i love shipping bloodymary because i do it in a cooler and more aroace way than a lot of you
i actually refuse to believe grace gets to erid and lives a normal human life span, like that’s like 5 minutes for rocky that’s not even as long as you’d own a cat
no i’ve decided that eridians are FANTASTIC at medicine, like centuries ahead of human medicine, and that makes it pretty easy for them to fix grace up so he can live the same life span as a eridian
hi! if ur taking reqs maychance we get angsty peeled jax and injured pomni from ep 8?
He doesn’t like it when she frowns
i feel like people who ship funnybunny and bunny doll just want to believe that the people they love who hurt them can get better if loved enough.
anyway, if anyone wants funnybunny fic recs, I have several saved on my ao3.
Adaine and Riz SOMEHOW having reputations as being the more "sane" or "logical" people in the group is so funny to me. They have that repuation because they're the "nerd squad" (canon) so they're smart and bad at social interactions (also canon), but they truly are the most unhinged members of the bad kids (including Kristen!) and you can not change my mind.
This is Adaine "I killed our father so naturally my sister should kill our mother" Abernant. At one point she gets the nickname "bloodthirsty Adaine" (though it's mostly a joke). She's also incredibly kind and forgiving in situations where she needs to be, but she's a wizard whos primary defense is straight up punching someone and repeatedly has asked for a gun. She heard that Kipperlilly hates the bad kids (in part) because she thinks their traumatic backstories give them an unfair advantage in adventuring, and her first response was "why doesn't she just kill her parents?"
This is Riz "cut his head off so he can't come back" Gukgak. He ate the dragon who killed his dad, shot a man's fingers off for fucking with his friends, and offered to bite a mans eye out for Fabian. Riz straight up brought a gun with him to school day one of freshman year, which even FABIAN, raised by Bill Seacaster the pirate, thinks is wild.
Riz was raised by a police officer and Adaine was raised by a pompous politician, so you'd think they would be more turned off of violence, but they aren't. They are both just genuinely a little off the wall and I love them for it. When I call them unhinged, I'm not talking about the Kristen trying to fly with a ribbon or the Fig "Hilda Hilda" way, I mean literally a bit more vicious than the rest of their party. This is also part of the reason I think they're such good friends. Usually this extreme violence doesn't come from nowhere- Biz wanted to kidnap Adaine and has been responsible for the dissapearance of 7 girls, Angwyn had literally just killed Aelwyn in front of Adaine- they both understand that sometimes the thing that makes the most sense or gets the job done the fastest is extreme violence.
Of course, all of the bad kids do. But Adaine and Riz specifically REALLY should not be considered the breaks/voice of reason in the group (funny thing is, a lot of the time that's Fabian, who again was raised by a lunatic pirate. Fabian stops himself from going too far with coach Daybreak, tries to stop everyone in the Biz interrogation, etc)
me: did my heart just… skip a beat?
narrator: they have POTS. they should sit down.
This convo between Riz and his mom cutting me to the core because I grew up poor surrounded by rich kids and college was a real struggle financially...
Brennan so perfectly portrays how hard it is for Sklonda to tell Riz that she can't afford college. He does moms so well!
Even during college I had to work a job so I didn't have enough time and energy for my classes resulting in me basically flunking out, while I got to watch my friends who had apartments paid for by their parents and who got to go to fancy math clubs as a kid excell
I will never not be over Murph as Riz and Brennan as Sklonda
i ship them but in an infinitely more nuanced and aromantic way than you ever will
some words of wisdom.
who.
i have a piece of wisdom for you
maybe my parents do deserve a better son. they have more life experience than me; maybe i need to give them more respect.
“he’s gay? so he thinks he’s a she?”
“no, because i checked chat gpt”
“it is my right to discipline [hit and criticize] you because i gave you life”
“if i had your body, i wouldn’t be trans”
