Rhaenyra gave him a look of utter hatred. âPoor Laenor, only the firstborn son of a dragon-riding house, what a pitiful existence Iâve forced him to live.â Her tone dripped with sickly condescension. âMy own father knew what he was and gave him to me as though I were of no more consequence than a scullionâs wife.â They were close as lovers now. âYes, I chose Harwin. Because I could. Because Laenor wouldâve preferred a man to me, and I was not willing to suffer to give him children.â

I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time--when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance. - The Demon-Haunted World (1995), Carl Sagan
Yeah....Sorry Carl....you were right :(

Chapter 15 of Our Fathers Clad in Red is finally live! @aifsaath and I appreciate your patience! If you are missing your dose of Baegon, look no further, for our unlikely couple is the main attraction this chapter. And of course, OFCIR would not be OFCIR without a hefty dose of Viserys I slander. A preview:
His reasons for despising his father went deeper than that. Some part of him, he supposed, wanted them to know that, even if they could never know why. âThey think me grasping.â âOnly for what is your due. None of them would have done different. But you know that.â Tyland tapped his finger atop the back of Aegon's unscarred hand. âWhat is it you're not telling me?â âI want them to know he wasnât a good person.â He said the first true thing that came to mind. âI want everyone to know. But I donât want them to pity me either.â âI could pay some minstrels to write slanderous songs about him. Would that help?â âLet me write the songs,â Aegon muttered. âYou may distribute them.â
And in honor of Little Aegon's return home from his ordeal, this chapter we have an illustration by @aifsaath of all the kids safely at home and sleeping in a pile with their pets.
For people wondering why Viserys pulled the shit he did regarding his family.

Alicent advising Rhaenyra, ngl I have a lot of gripes with how many extreme changes they've made to the source material but I still love their relationship so...
