    “Well I wasn’t expecting a visitor.” There were very few people that knew about her little hiding spot. She didn’t even know the person standing in the door way. She spun the knife in her hand stepping out her staging area closing the door on her recent victim. “Can I help you? Or should I just kill you now?”

“You learn not to expect Lex Luthor.” He responded, letting himself in just as nonchalantly as if he lived in this place. “I wouldn’t bother. I promise that I will mean so much more to you alive.” Lex leaned up against a wall. “I have a proposition.”

“I gave you chances, Lex. I have given you so many chances.” Clark argued. He felt so stupid for falling into this trap, but he had to try and salvage this somehow. “You do things that I don’t always agree with. But I’ve always tried to see the good in you. I’m trying to see the good in you right now…” He paused, “I don’t want you as an enemy. That is the last thing I want.” His gaze was serious and stern. 

Had he, though? How had Lex really screwed up that badly? If he HAD screwed up, it was Clark’s fault! He’d driven him mad. Lex had developed an obsession, to uncover the truth. Where had it all gotten him? Nowhere.  “And you think you’re so damn perfect, don’t you? The town savior!” It pissed Lex off, it really did. “Then why lie to me all of these years? I was your best friend, Clark. How could you call someone that and keep secrets only to hurt them and think that’s RIGHT?” There was no getting through, no matter what he said Clark would deny and dance around the truth like he always had.

“Lex.” Clark clenched his jaw. He didn’t know why Lex was doing this. For a moment, he wondered if something had happened and Lex was under the effect of one of the meteor rocks. “If you think I’m going to fall for this, you’re wrong.” He was tempted to take a step forward, “I don’t want to fight you.”

Clark had never had the balls to back up what he said. He was always running, hiding, LYING. How could he live like that? Did he lie to Lana? Chloe? Where did it end? “Oh, there’s no fight. I am just telling you that I don’t trust you. It’s only fair, right? You have never given me a chance. I was desperate to have a friend, I guess. Look where THAT got me.” He practically spat the word friend as if it were poisonous. “You did this, you brought it upon yourself. You want me as an enemy? Fine.”

Clark visibly tensed when Lex mentioned Jonathan. It took a lot to get him angry, but any sort of mention of his family brought him dangerously close to that territory. “Don’t you dare bring my father into this, Lex. This isn’t about either of our families. This is between me and you…” He tried to ignore Lex’s dig about Clark and Lionel, thinking it was coming from a place of pent up anger at the older man that was (hopefully) being misplaced at him. 

“Oh, I’m SO SORRY. Did that sting?” Lex knew that he’d gotten to Clark with that comment and he was damn proud of it too. “Why not? You are the one acting like someone you supposedly can’t trust.” The heir to the Luthor name was definitely in charge now. “Is that it? Only room in your heart for one Luthor? Hmm?”

Clark froze in place as he kept his gaze on Lex. He didn’t want conflict, physical or verbal, because he knew it wouldn’t end well either way. “I didn’t lie, Lex.” Clark stated calmly. “And if I didn’t trust you, I wouldn’t be here right now…” He paused, mainly because he wasn’t sure of his own words. Clark cared for Lex a lot, but he had his moments of doubt when it came to his loyalty. 

“OH REALLY?!” He could not believe the words coming out of Clark’s mouth AGAIN. He was being driven to the edge here and Clark was at the wheel. “You are a liar. Does Johnathan approve of this side of you, Clark? Did he teach you to lie to your friends and PRETEND to be an honest person? I doubt that. You must have learned that somewhere else. You’ve been hanging around my father too much, he’s rubbing off on you.”

“Lex, please…” Clark looked over at him with those puppy dog eyes of his, a clear concern for his friend obvious in his features. He always wanted the best for his friend even if they often stood at odds with one another. That’s just how Clark was, he wouldn’t ever stop looking for the good until it was too late. “Let’s talk about this!” He added softly, taking a careful step towards him.

“No, no more second chances, Clark.” Lex held up a hand, signaling for his so called friend to stay exactly where he was. The Luthor wasn’t playing these games anymore. He was so damn TIRED of running around in circles, trying to get Clark to TRUST him only to be denied over and OVER again. “I’m THROUGH with trying to talk to you, all you do is shut me out and LIE to me! You NEVER trusted me.”

“An accident?” Silence settles on her shoulders for a moment—stillrigid. Firm. And for a moment she looks through him as much as she sees himbefore she slides glasses up her nose, chin falling to look at the balcony foronly a breath before her chin tips backwards.

“Why don’t you come inside? You can tell me what happened.Do you want anything to drink? I just finished the last of the pizza but…wecan always order more?”

“Yeah, an accident.” He made a face, wondering if this was the point that Kara was going to kick him out or not. If she realized that he wasn’t the REAL Barry Allen, his butt would be chucked across the city, he was sure of it. He didn’t mean her any harm, he just wanted to see his friend. . . Barry was always happy around her, she was a ray of sunshine.  “Yeah, please.” He nodded his head toward the door. “Water is good.” He followed her movements. “I - - - actually, pizza sounds great. I would love some.”

It was so dark, but she was used to sitting in the dark with only a laptop or phone screen to give her some light. She could have sworn she saw something on his face, but he kept his face turned just enough that to her it was nothing more than a shadow. It still gave her pause to wonder why he was standing that way from her… distant. Like he was hiding still. 

“You could never drop by in a bad time….” she said slowly, as if answering him more on autopilot than thinking about it. Tilting her head a little to try and look at his whole face as she ignored his question about her general life and said, “If you wanted to see me… then why are you barely looking at me?” Her hand slowly lifting, hesitating as she considered trying to pull his face out of the shadows and towards her. 

There was this thought that kept popping up in his mind, a warning sign. He couldn’t very well just saunter out of the shadows, Felicity would flip. Sighing, Savitar stepped closer to her, but kept the horrifying side of his face hidden from her. He just wanted to be close to someone, to feel decent and normal. Was that too much to ask for? “Mm.” He hummed. “I will keep that in mind.” He informed the blonde, his friend - - - Barry’s friend. “I am looking at you.” The god of speed defended himself. He eyed her hand and brought up one of his own to intercept it, holding it gently in his own. “Please, don’t.”
