I love how varied and universally weird the circumstances for making lifelong friendships are. Here's this guy I accidentally messaged once and I could not imagine my life without them now. Here's this girl I was so scared of when I met her, I would kill for her and remind her to rest on the regular. Here's this other guy we have so much in common we used to joke we were the same person in different timelines. It took us years to meet in person and I attended his wedding. There are also people who entered my life in absolutely unremarkable ways but changed it forever for the better. It's wonderful how easy it is to find people to love.

I just googled this and… yes, it’s absolutely real.

And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.

So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.

The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.

the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. What is the world?

The world is violence.

It is watching ecosystems collapse so that a few men get richer.

It is finding joy in the destruction of evil men and then realizing that that is a moral failing.

The world is also everything else.

It is the first warm day of spring.

It is your dog wiggling because they are so happy you are home.

It is films that make you cry and music that makes you sing.

It is watching humanity travel the farthest it’s ever been and have the 4 astronauts look at you and say we love you.

It is the ocean and its depths we don’t even know yet.

It is finding community after a childhood of loneliness.

It is welcoming and being welcomed.

It is holding the door open for strangers.

It is stopping on the side of the road to help someone with a flat tire.

It is music being the first language and art being the first written language.
