He couldn’t help the chuckle that left his lips, a hushed but amused sound. He gave a slightly sarcastic tsk as he slipped his phone into one of the embroidered pockets of his robe, already mentally noting how Zac seemed to have told Illyssa that he was coming soon–though the very thought of his brother communicating with his girlfriend while sneaking around with her best friend filled him with a dark, somewhat twisted sense of amusement. Zaiden Hendricks was many things–scheming being one of them. He enjoyed a good plan, wrapped up in all the subtle details that could make or destroy someone’s entire reputation–but more than anything, he enjoyed being able to sit back and enjoy watching it all unfold before him like some sick, twisted sitcom. Right now, his game of choice had most easily become his twin’s rather dangerous affair between the queen bees of the Upper East Side.
He often chided Zacharie about how risky the entire ordeal was–but at the end of the day, the elder of the pair couldn’t help but hope the cat and mouse game would keep going. There was an odd sense of satisfaction that filled him as cool blue eyes slid over the brunette making herself comfortable in the kitchen of his apartment, knowing damn well that she was very blissfully unaware of what Zac was really doing. Perhaps he was sick for getting as much enjoyment out of this as he did, but that didn’t change how fascinated he was by it all.
Nonetheless, Zaiden wandered into the kitchen to pull out a glass before setting his own half-filled one against the counter. “Don’t sound so surprised, dearest Illyssa.” His drawl was slow and dripping with dry amusement as a smirk graced his features, already moving towards his fridge. “You and I both know you read the blast last night about my hedonistic escapade at the Burlesque club.” Each pretentious word leaving his lips was coated heavily with sarcasm as a chuckle followed his statement. “Champagne, wine, or something else, Illyssa? I have anything your lovely little heart may desire.”
Zacharie Hendricks was definitely the more tolerable of the two Hendricks brothers. At least as far as Illyssa was concerned. It was probably part of the reason she'd started dating the younger brother to begin with. She'd known the two boys her entire life, from play dates to preschool they had always been part of the same group.
Zaiden was known for sleeping with anything that would spread their legs for him, and Illyssa was known for rolling her eyes at him. Which was exactly what she was doing right now as he sashayed his way into the kitchen. “Champagne,” she replied briskly as she tapped out a message to her missing boyfriend, just trying to get a handle on his whereabouts and just how long was she going to have to entertain his brother.
“Sometimes I think you try to get caught by Gossip Girl when you go out.” She commented her voice teasing as she placed her phone down on the counter. “I'm sure you get some kind of sick thrill having her out your activities to all of Manhattan. No such thing as bad press? Isn't that what they say?”
