ELLE FANNING as Effie Trinket THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING dir. Francis Lawrence WOODY HARRELSON as Haymitch Abernathy THE HUNGER GAMES dir. Gary Ross
Binged part 1 of the new bridgerton season and I have no regrets. Coming from someone who struggled to finish part 1 of season 3 and then dnf the 2nd part of season 3, season 4 has been amazing so far!!!
The chemistry between the 2 leads ?? Perfection đâš
Love Sophie's actress, and Benedict be looking fine as alwaysđ
Most of the screentime is centred around the main couple, less of the unnecessary side plots . Love it, cant wait for part 2!!
My only complaint is the lack of kanthony :(

thinking about how ursula k leguin said "what goes too long unchanged destroys itself. The forest is forever because it dies and dies and so lives" and how everyday i wake up slightly different and i can feel myself shed the skin of who i used to be slowly, slowly, until i look back and can scarcely recognise who i was... but also she is still a part of me, part of the leaf litter and the humus, supporting me as i send new roots down and new leaves stretching up to the sunlight
on friends, who maybe want to be a little more than that
what if the friar in much ado and the friar in romeo and juilet are the same friar and heâs just going around suggesting everyone fake their death as a solution to all issues
In that case, Much Ado had better have happened first.
IâVE HAD THIS THEORY FOR YEARS HOLY SHIT
Same thing as the fool in Lear and in Twelfth Night, because theyâre the only two fools who know way more than they let on. I just imagine the fool traipsing around some blasted heath in a storm with a crazy old man like âyou know what? Fuck this. Iâm going to Italyâ and thatâs why he fucks off halfway through the play and is never heard from again.
Maybe thatâs why he thinks itâs going to work in Romeo and Juliet, because he did it in MUCH ADO first and it worked great! And heâs a great dude in that â he totally advocates for Hero when her dad is screaming at her. Makes sense that he would also be an advocate for Juliet!
What if Paulina was also the friar.

marriage before thirties is so insane because you're barely a person yet
divorce before thirties however is chic beyond comprehension
iâm so appreciative to suzanne for reframing the rebellion from the original trilogy as a âthey saw their moment and took itâ type situation and showing us that theyâve been trying, over and over, with so many failed attempts, to break the arena and incite a rebellion for decades. in this current political climate never giving up hope is so essential. haymitch wasnât the first nor the last, and they kept going even when it seemed completely futile, and thatâs what counts, and what ultimately saves them all.
This is the moment that dash gave Lew the bracelet that I made him and Iâm legitimately so glad that I caught it on video
U know, Suzanne didnât have to develop Effieâs relationship with Haymitch so deeply in sotr. She didnât have to say, with all the words, how much Effie trusted him to not hurt her, implying a kind of trust that is beyond explanation, due to their short friendship. She didnât have to say that Effie took care of him during his entire process in the Capitol âfrom his own Games, all the way to the 75th editionâ, and how grateful he was for her. She didnât have to make the last thing he saw before leaving to his eminent death being her eyes. She didnât have to use a broken metaphor of geeseâs mate to represent the way he saw his relationship with Lenore Dove, knowing perfectly well Geese donât, in fact, mate for life; but grief for a long time âlike Haymitch was doingâ before finding another partner. She could have spared us the lore and just sell her tragic romantic story of Haymitch and a Lenore Dove, with no further explanation about Effie, so we wouldnât question the epilogue as much as weâre doing now.But she didnât!
She gave us it all, knowing very well the fandom she was working with. Knowing that ever since the first book was released âa decade agoâ, we never stopped coming up with more analysis. That we kept overthinking about the tinniest details from the books, creating a stronger understanding about the characters. Knowing she wouldnât get away with the incorrect geese metaphorâŠwe would see though it
There is no way you are looking at all of this and saying we got less material for Hayffie than beforeâŠ
She really said âthey are not mineâŠbut i know they are yours and i wonât take them away from youâ
'Sunrise on the reaping killed hayffie" but did it though??
Haymitch's thoughts of Effie are positive, as positive as they can be for a Capitol citizen. She steps in to save the day. She's with him in the launch room. That's such a big deal! Every moment of Drusilla highlights how important Effie is, how important her role is to the success and survival of 12's Tributes. Because we see what happens when her job is done SO SO BADLY.
Yeah she's blinded by patriotism but she's also more reliable than Plutarch, who Haymitch finds hard to pin down.
Effie is older than haymitch now, but she's a young woman so she's probably recently graduated. 22? 23? 6-7 years isn't a big age gap.
So soooooooo much of this book is about dignity. Dignity dignity dignity. And Effie respects Haymitch. She treats him with dignity. Consistently.
And yes Haymitch says geese mate for life. But he also says Louella will be his only sweetheart only for Katniss to quickly get the name sweetheart. So I think he can love both Lenore and Effie, just as he can care for Katniss without her 'replacing' Louella.

*SUNRISE ON THE REAPING SPOILERS*
Reading through the SoTR tag and honestly, I fully disagree with a big criticism point, which is that the prequel is turning Katniss into some Chosen One.
I fully read it as the reverse! That Katnissâ life and role and victories are the sum of not only her parts, but every single person who has owed someone else, something that could not be repaid.
Haymitch being friends with Katnissâ dad is not some shoehorn??? District 12 has 10,000 people at the time of the 75th games! They had one school! Everybody knew everybody, so itâs not a surprise that two Seam boys knew each other or could be friends!
Beetee and Wiress and Mags being there wasnât some âAvengers Assembleâ moment, it was 3 Victors being punished like all Victors were (except Beetee had an even worse go of it, proving something Katniss observed in CF, which is that Victorsâ children had a higher odds of being chosen or outright rigged).
Even younger Effie and Plutarch??? They were career Hunger Games staff canonically??? It made sense for them to be there??
Idk people have been talking about this book as a cash grab and not talking about the poignancy of how every action Katniss Everdeen took was influenced by the character and love of those before and around her.
