I’m wondering if you can talk about what you like in a femme style/appearance wise. (I know you have a gf and I’m literally not asking to try and flirt lol). It would just be great to have an actual butch’s view because I’m pretty closeted but I really really want to be attractive to butches... and it would be so great to get a real opinion not just “oh be yourself, you’re so valid.” Thanks in advance for your honest perspective 😊

I mean I’m a sucker for a dress and red lips but what it’s really about for me is the magnetic quality of their personalities. I mean it it’s something that is constant across all femmes of different kinds.

It’s the ability to command a room or at least butch and wlw attention. I knew one girl as femme when we had to pick groups in class and I was looking around before she caught my eye and beckoned me over by just cooking her finger towards her. All thoughts id had before hand left my head and I sat right next to her.

At our drag show one time a femme and stud couple approached the ticket table, both dressed to the nines, and while the stud began to pay the femme held out her right hand, with her other resting on her feathered collar. Me and my two friends scrambled to get her a bracelet so she could go inside and I ended up putting it on her wrist. I felt like I’d won. Won what? Who knows. They each smiled a little, spoke to us a little, and walked inside.

It’s their ability to communicate so much in one glance, one gesture, or the slight change in their tone of voice.

I’d imagine this power and profound knowledge of the world, others, and their selves, comes from their experience in centering their lives around women. The confidence their possess radiates outward. Since they do not dress for men or do anything for men, instead for other women, they shed the trappings of femininity that they don’t feel apply to them. This ignites this spark as far as I can tell that allows femmes to hone their assets as they see fit. Nothing else is like a femmes vibe. Shy femmes, outrageous femmes, hard femmes, soft femmes, etc. all possess this power and channel it in different ways.

That fire is what flows through each femme and is released and expressed in different ways.

Leastways that’s all I can tell. I feel like this isn’t the answer you were looking for but it’s my honest one. Other butches please feel free to add. Femmes, you are more than welcome to tell me to check myself and where I’m wrong or probably word what I’m trying to say in a more concise and less rambling way.

my insomnia-driven breakdown this morning

it’s 01:42am and I’m sat crossed legged with tears rolling down my face and they just won’t stop? And I keep looking at the wall and wanting to grab a paintbrush and sprawl letters all over it: creating words that have no meaning. And if I did, I’d wake up in the morning and blame it on the drink, Say the Malibu doesn’t let me think… When I’m not quite sure that one shot makes any difference to my nocturnal language of nonsense. And I’m babbling and I keep saying ‘and’ Because I’m not quite sure how to end this like I’m not quite sure how to go to sleep and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s loneliness keeping me awake this time? Because fanfic never did anything good for my emotional state. And I think I should put my phone down now.

My Fatal Flaw, as an INFJ

Nothing is truer than an infj’s ability to see the potential in each individual. We have a tendency to look at people as their whole story, not just who they are in the moment. We consider everything that went into making people the way they are…from our significant others to family members to strangers on the street. We do it with everyone, without even really meaning to. That’s just how we see people.

One thing I’m unsure of, however, is how good for us that is. I have a terrible problem of falling in love with people for the way they COULD be.

Yes, I know they COULD live up to my high standards, but that doesn’t mean they will. In every relationship I’ve ever been in, it’s always been a constant struggle trying to help them see that they have that potential within them, and it’s only a matter of working towards it. It’s not that I expect people to perfect. I don’t at all. I just expect people to constantly be trying as hard as I am to become a better version of myself. Because that’s what I’m always doing.

I honestly feel hopeless sometimes that I’ll never be able to find someone that understands that. I don’t want a perfect person. But I do want a compatible person. And I do want someone who tries hard to always be their best. Is that fair?

I am constantly asking myself the question, “Is that normal?!” because I’m so convinced of an idea myself, but I forget that not everyone looks at life the way I do. So I feel incredibly isolated and lonely, because I feel like I would only ever know if I was “normal” or “reasonable” if I knew another INFJ to compare myself to. But we’re so rare! Chances are I have met at least one in my life, but I sure don’t know any personally. It’s incredibly frustrating, and it makes me start to feel defective.

I’m a right and a left brain-ed thinker. I am very emotional and feel things a lot, but I ALWAYS have a reason for feeling what I do. I always have some type of logic behind every feeling, and I don’t come to conclusions quickly. But as soon as I feel I’ve gathered enough information, I feel very strongly. It’s rationality and emotion combined. And that is so freaking hard to understand in myself sometimes.
