No Princess Jasmine costume but she was thrilled to wear this pink gem.
However, she was mad that I made her wear her hoodie under her coat because it's cold outside.

if i look back, i am lost

School Pictures
Me: We have to pick out your outfit for pictures tomorrow.
Lucy: I want to be Princess Jasmine!
Me: uhhh...... You're allowed to wear a costume to school?
Lucy: Yeah...
Me: Who told you that?
Lucy: MRS. WALKER DID!
Me: Did she actually say, "You are allowed to wear a costume for your pictures"?
Lucy: Well, she said we should wear something we never wore to school yet!
Me: I don't think she meant you can wear your favourite princess costume.
Lucy:
Boy at school decided to Lucy that boys are tougher than girls
Lu: Mom, [Kid at school] said boys are tougher than girls but that's not true.
Me: You're right. You should just tell him that gender doesn't matter.
Lu: *SIGH* I won't remember that.
Me: Fine, just tell him girls are also tough. We're so tough we push babies out our vaginas.
Lu: I CAN'T SAY "VAGINA". It's a bad word.
Me: You can say "vagina". It's empowering and you can say it.
Lu: *screaming* VAGINA! VAGINA! I AM EMPOWERED AND BEING PROACTIVE!!!!! *hops on her bike and rides away*
Note: I didn't want to drop the "pushing babies out our vagina" bombs because I know there are other levels of "toughness". However, I know the shock value of her saying that to another kid will hopefully snap him out of "girls vs boys" for a while.
Can I Call You Auntie?
.... no ... I'm your mom. Why do you want to call me "auntie"?
... .alright... time for bed.
Thanks Bingofuel

Lucy: Mom, when you were little did you tell you're friend that she's going to grow up and one day she'll have kids and then she'll be a grandma and then your friend got mad and cried?
Me:
Lucy: Because I said that to Mabel and she cried.
Me:
Lucy: I don't know why she was upset. It's not like it hard being a grandma. You just get to be old!
Me:
Lucy: Just look at that lady. She's a grandma and she's just driving around.
Me: How do you know she's a grandma, Lucy?
Lucy: Her cheeks, mom. Just look at her cheeks?
Me: What about her cheeks tells you she's a grandma?
Lucy: I'm done talking about this.
Me:
Maybe one day Gladys will have babies.
Me: She can't have babies.
Lucy: But maybe she wants to have babies.
Me: No, she's been fixed so her body isn't able to have babies.
Lucy: Shhhh! Look! She's trying to lay eggs!
Gladys is a Chihuahua.
#TBT You're a Wimp
Lucy, 2 years old, 2011
So we're in the waiting area of a restaurant and a couple with a little boy are near us.
Like most little kids, he & Lucy look at each other with that "hey, you're a kid" recognition.
Kid: *in a really really whiny voice* Hiiiiii
Lucy: You're a wimp!

D – “Sure”
L – “But first we’re going in that restaurant?”
D – “Nope.”
L – “Oh-kayyyyy… but I REALLY want to, Daddy.”
Terah Bird
In a display of stuffed birds at the museum Lucy saw a Steller's Jay.
I like that bird. It has hair like Terah. It's a Terah Bird.
Zero Money
Wouldn't it be awesome if you were at a store and you wanted to buy something and it was ZERO money?!? Then you wouldn't have to pay!
Yes Lucy... that would be awesome.
#TBT Snack Time
Lucy, age 2, 2011
Lucy: I’m hungry.
Mommy: Well, would you like a snack?
Lucy: YES!
Mommy: How about an apple?
Lucy: No. When I was upstairs on my fuzzy bubby I had a wicked poop. Now I can’t eat fruit.
Mommy: I can peel it and cut it for you.
Lucy: hmmmm…. okay…. I want it in my monkey bowel!
I Hate To Tell You This
Whist on bike ride, Lucy pulls over to the side, stop and looks right at me.
Lucy: Mom, I hate to tell you this but your helmet doesn't match your bike.
Me: um ....
#TBT The Little Mermaid
Lucy, age 2, 2011
Daddy had to take Lucy to get her booster shots. That morning she put on one of her many puffy & prissy dresses.
Considering what the day entailed, Daddy decided she could wear her pretty puffy dress to the doctor. While in the waiting room, Lucy and another little girl were playing.
Little girl: Wow! What a pretty dress! You must be a princess!
Lucy: *shrugs & is completely nonchalant* I’m not a princess, I’m a mermaid.
Little girl: whoa!
After Lucy’s boosters she and Daddy passed the little girl and her mommy.
The two little ladies waved, while drying their teary post-booster shot eyes. Daddy then overhead the little girl say to her mommy: See mommy, there’s THE mermaid!
#TBT Watching the end of Beauty and the Beast
Lucy, age 2, 2011
Lucy: What happened to the Beast, Mommy?
Mommy: He got hurt but he will be okay.
Lucy: He’s a scary lion. I do not like the Beast.
*The Beast starts glowing*
Lucy: What’s happening to him now?
Mommy: He’s tuning into a man.
Lucy: The Beast is a man?!? *she looks intensely at the screen & is obviously in deep thought* What’s his name now?
Mommy:
Lucy: Beast Man?
Mommy: Sure. Prince Beast Man.
#tbt 2 yr old Lucy on Relationships
Lucy, age 2, 2011

Lucy: Jonas.
Mommy: What do you and Jonas do?
