y'know if u couldn't tell already...
I found this new duo called Far East Mention Mannequins (FEMM for short), and they're actually pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is how niche they are, but besides that, they make good music and there are cool memers, who i'm sure (i hope), haven't done anything wrong.
If you also wanted to get into them, listen to these songs: Astroboy, Fxxk Boyz Get Money, Wannabe, and Flood the Night!
so, i had the bright idea to take a stroll through red velvet's discography...
So, I'll be ranking albums from strongest to weakest!
Russian Roulette - 9.5/10: An album that houses my now favorite tracks! Seemingly, the b-sides are better than the classic title track, "Russian Roulette". My Dear and Lucky Girl really stood out to me and come close to strong tracks from Red Velvet.
The Velvet - 9/10: VELVET EXCELLENCEEEEEE, I really thought this would be a snoozefest; it wasn't. Old Red Velvet really captured the r&b, calm sound that I sometimes look for! Tracks like One of These Nights, Cool Hot Sweet Love, and Rose Scent Breeze really elevated this album! Really wish this was a full album, not just because it could be a good sister album to The Red but because the sound would be...IMMACULATE.
The Red - 8.5/10: For their first full album, this actually wasn't that bad! Of course, just a bit experimental, in mostly the right places. I say most because Time Slip and Huff n Puff are right there...(one of their weakest tracks), but to make up for it, Campfire and Oh Boy are right there!
Perfect Velvet - 7.4/10: I saw people praise this for being good and very R&B-like, so I definitely had some expectations when it came to this album, and it hit me with genres I didn't expect but still enjoyed. So, it's probably this low because I expected more. Standout tracks, of course, were Perfect 10, Look, and Kingdom Come. Attaboy was weird...in a bad way, though, but that's fine. I'm sure this rating will change, so don't get used to it!
Rookie - 7.3/10: See, at first the title track sorta pushed me away from this only because of the rookie part, but once you get over it, it's a good song! The others were nice, but again nothing special.
Ice Cream Cake - 7/10: While strong for their debut album, compared to the stuff I've listened to so far, it's kinda just...there. Automatic and Stupid Cupid, however, got my whole heart!

While most sones only know Run Devil Run to be cowritten by Ke$ha, another, less popular song of SNSD, called "Chain Reaction," was actually meant to be on Ke$ha's album "Animal".

Girls' Generation actually performed in France! During their global expedition for success in 2011 with "The Boys", they performed on a French show called Le Grand Journal!

double standards kpop
something that’s been pissing me off so bad are the double standards in kpop. like for example, a female idol does even the smallest thing—plastic surgery, fillers, changing her look, whatever—and people immediately start acting like she “ruined her face” or “lost her natural beauty” or suddenly she’s fake. there’s always this wave of hate disguised as “concern” or “just honesty,” but it’s really just judgement. but then a male idol does the exact same thing (or sometimes way more noticeable work) and suddenly it’s silent. no discourse, no endless thinkpieces, no people acting morally superior about it. at most it’s brushed off like “oh it’s just aging” or “it’s normal in the industry,” and everyone moves on like nothing happened. and it’s not even just surgeries. it’s everything. styling, dating rumors, weight changes, personality, literally breathing wrong. female idols are held to this impossible standard where they have to be flawless but also “relatable,” polished but also “natural,” confident but not “arrogant,” pretty but not “trying too hard.” it’s exhausting just watching it from the outside. meanwhile male idols get so much more grace to just… exist. to experiment, to change, to grow into their image without their entire worth being questioned every time. and what’s crazy is how normalized this is. like people don’t even realize they’re doing it anymore. it’s just baked into the way fandom culture talks. idk it just feels like we’re constantly expecting perfection from women in kpop while letting men exist with way more freedom and forgiveness, and pretending that’s fair when it’s clearly not. anyway, it’s something people should really unlearn because it’s not “just opinions,” it’s a pattern.

Luna, former member of f(x), did a song for the game, Marvel Rivals called Flight Mode! This was for the character Luna Snow!
daily kpop fact #53
SNSD's Visual Dreams music video, despite being well-liked by the fandom, has plenty of mistakes! Obviously this is not to tear down the girls since they probably had little time to do this, but, see if you can find every mistake!
(and dont cheat either...)
How is there an SNSD reunion & I don’t even give a flying fucking fuck. How the fuck are you saying you brought all the girlies back when there’s no fucking Jessica. Jessica wasn’t even my bias, I’m a Sunny simp… but you never fucking disrespect Jessica Jung. if Jessica asks for something you give it to her expeditiously because she’s that bitch & that bitch is more than fucking capable of being reasonable.
If she wasn’t the one being reasonable already.
