Tonight is yet another night where I end my day being grateful that I have the privilege of being a lesbian. Being a lesbian is the most beautiful thing in the world and is a very important part of who I am!

Tonight is yet another night where I end my day being grateful that I have the privilege of being a lesbian. Being a lesbian is the most beautiful thing in the world and is a very important part of who I am!
I love when I go to a lesbian function and random dykes start doing pushups for no reason.
Putting lesbians first in everything I do. That's the only way forward for me!
Today, from the Lesbian Collection: Curve magazine. Founded as Denuve in 1990 and had its last physical issue in 2021. Its now a Lesbian archive site (curvemag.com). Curve was one of the most popular lesbian magazines that served the entire country. Since Curve ended, America no longer has a sensationalized lesbian magazine and leaves the Lesbian Connection as the most popular lesbian magazine in the country.
⚢
In my collection, I have 2 main types of lesbian peridocals:
sensationalized: similar to what youd see at a magazine stand with plenty of advertisements, more generalized (tends to cover all wlw/LBTQ+, not just lesbians), they tend to have a team of writers/journalists for their content, lots of pictures, and is usually for proft. This type of magazine is a good way to keep up with lesbian/wlw pop culture!
Examples: Curve, Girlfriends, On Our Backs
And
literary forum: relies primarily or entirely on reader submitted content, mostly text with few to no pictures, no ADs or the ADs are for lesbian/wlw centered (usually small) businesses/events, theyre usually non profits, and are free and/or follow a "more if you can, less if you cant" model. This type of magazine/publication is good to keep up with current issues and topics within and get more involved with the Lesbian community!
Examples: Lesbian Connection, Sinister Wisdom, Maize

I suggest watching the great documentary about the hertory of Curve on Netflix called Ahead of the Curve!
Being a lesbian means so much to me, I'm so glad i get to center only women {and enbies ♡} in everything I do. My journey of discovering, accepting, and now being a proud lesbian has had a large inpact on my relationship with my womanhood and how I exist in the world! The lesbian community has taught me to love myself in ways I never thought possible previously.
Here at the wuh-luh-workshop, I love women's music. And one of my favorite women's musicians is Alix Dobkin!
⚢
Alix dobkin released one of the early womens music albums, Lavender Jane Loves Women (left) in 1973 and Living With Lesbians (right) in 1975! Her music always proudly centered lesbian women.
⚢
In addition to her music, she also advocated for lesbian rights and visibility. She was also a supporter of lesbian/womens seperatism and living life independently from without the influence of men.
Here at the Woman-Loving-Workshop, I have a large collection of issues of the Lesbian Connection magazine.
⚢
The lesbian connection has been around for 50 years (1974-present) and have released over 300 issues. Theyre a great way to get involved with a lesbian community thats a lot more real and personal than anything you can find online! This is also a great place go find older lesbians.

Thanks to LC, ive gotten so much more involved in the lesbian community and met so many amazing women!
