oh and btw only 51 people died under obama’s presidency with ICE and it was all rightful violence.. we are already at that number 2 years into trumps residency, with 90% of them being unjustifiable.
Joel and reader introducing their new baby to the team after a practice?
WELCOME TO THE TEAM
i'm going to assume you meant ekker and not kivi, but if you did mean kivi, i'm sorry lol
THE GREAT PLAYOFF BLURB EVENT
tw: babies/children
mikael eriksson ek had only been earthside for a few weeks, but you knew there was already a list longer than the nile river of people who were waiting and excited to meet him.
you only allowed a few people to be at the hospital with you, and a few friends were there to surprise you when you got home from the hospital, but other than that, you were njoying you own little personal baby bubble.
but, of course, that bubble couldn't last forever. so, you decided, why not surprise joel after practice and the rest of the guys. they had been sending you messages, asking when they could come over and meet the newest member of the team.
you pakced up your car with a blanket big enough to cover the entire state of minnesota, enough snacks to feed the wild and the rest of the staff, and a few other things that mikael just couldn't live without.
"all right, mikey," you glanced into the backseat where mikael was sitting, nonethewiser to who he was meeting and where he was going. "you're about to meet all your uncles. i hope you're excited," you joked.
arriving at the arena, you coudldn't help but be nervous. you knew the guys, had been around them more than your own family most of the time, but for some reason, this was different. you hiked the two bags over your shoulders and got the carrier out of the back.
"get ready, mikey. i don't think you're ready," you whispered, running a finger down the slope of his nose and sighing. as you headed to the entrance, the security guard who had been in that position since you and joel had been together, spotted you and quicklu made his way over to you.
"well, who is this?" he beamed, bending down to the level of the baby carrier, holding his hands out but not reaching out and touching just yet. he simply stared down at the sleeping baby. he clearly wanted to hold mikael, you could see it on his face, but held off.
"ollie, meet mikael." you smiled.
"hi, mikael." watching a grown man dote and fawn over a little baby made your heart melt. after saying your hellos and introductions to every other security guard in the area, you finally got inside.
you could hear the guys on the ice, shouting and laughing, shooting the puck up and down the ice. you made it, pausing by the glass to watch. you spotted joel, skating around the back of the net, laughing at something one of the guys had said.
"mrs. joel?" you heard someone say, stopping right in front of you. it had been a running joke for a few years, one you had enjoyed and didn't mind. "and a visitor." their eyes went down to the carrier in your arms.
"what are you doing here?" joel skated over. someone opened the door so joel could come over and hug you. you smiled, accepting the hug and handing the carrier off to him.
slowly, every guy came off the ice, trying to get a better look at mikael. to see a bunch of guys hunched over a small baby carrier, all jumping over each other and trying to get a better view of your son, was certainly a sight.
joel looked over at you with a content smile, like he was perfectly at peace and everything was finally falling into place. he leaned in and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head.
you watched all the guys. none of them were reaching out, but like ollie, they all looked like they wanted to pick him up and touch him. they kept their hands to themselves, which you were grateful for.
finally, joel bent down and picked up mikael from the carrier. the little boy was slowly waking up, blinking blearily and slowly looking around. he looked around the small circle that had formed, at all the new guys looking at him with goffy smiles.
"mikael, meet all your uncles." he slowly spun around, smiking as eachof them waved or said a soft 'hello'. "guys, meet mikael." joel smiled, stepping back to your side and looking out at all the guys.
I have a couple of ideas for you for Seth Jarvis because personally, there isn't enough fics of that loveable weirdo.
1. Seth and Reader have been together since they were 16. They've been through it all; him getting drafted into the nhl, injuries, the curse of the ecf, losing at the Olympics and getting silver, etc. But the night Seth wins the Stanley cup, he decides he can't wait any longer to put a ring on her finger. He says something along the lines of, "I can't be the only one to get a ring this year. Will you marry me?
2. When everyone comes back to Raleigh for the new season, they see Mrs. Jarvis is visibly supporting a small, yet very noticeable baby bump. Because one of my favorite troupes is a baby being born 9 months exactly after something big happening. They do the math once they know how far along she is and discover the baby was more than likely conceived when they won the cup. They tease him endlessly but congratulate him anyway.
If you don't want to write the second one that's fine. I just needed to get that idea out there and out of my head.
FOUR MONTHS LATER
okayyyyy i am SOOOOO sorry this took so long, but i hope you enjoy tehe because this idea is so cute!!! again, thank you everyone for sending things in <3 this is also lowkey a VERY long blurb lol
TAYLOR'S CANES NIGHT!
tw: everyone's drunk, pregnancy
you had been cheering seth on from the stands since you could remember. you were raised on the same block, only a few houses apart, and had met because your younger brother wanted to get into hockey, so your parents and his parents thought they might as well become friends.
you remember him coming over after practices or games and him and your brother shouting at the tv, playing whatever video game was really popular at that time. you didn't really see him as more than your little brothers older hockey player friend till you got to high school.
he was a year above you, so when you got there, he was the one to show you around, tell you the cool spots to hang out during lunch, and which group of people were bad news.
after the first day of school, you expected him to leave you alone, maybe a wave in the hallway, but wherever you went, you always seemed to see him. he was in one of your classes, laughing loudly about something his friend said, or in line to get lunch, playing a harmless prank on someone else.
when things took a turn was when you were partnered up for a chemistry project. he didn't really have any idea what was going on in the class, he just liked watching things explode and wearing the cool goggles. you, however, knew everything (in seth's eyes). he always thought you were the smartest person in the world, so who better to be partnered with than a modern day albert einstein (his words, not yours).
so, he started coming over after school more, needing help with homework or when teachers saw you worked well together and actually helped him, they started partnering the two of you up together more. on the third, partnering up, he finally bit the bullet and asked you out. from that moment on, you were even more conjoined at the hip than you had been before.
flash forward ten years, you were in the stands of the stanley cup finals, wearing his name on your back, surrounded by the nearest and dearest people in seth's life, almost unable to believe your eyes. you knew seth had it in him to be in the position to be in the finals and win. you would always be there to hype him up. after every win, every loss, every injury, everything.
the entire game, you were a nervous wreck. watching the puck even get close to the net, your heart was beating loud enough that you would hear it in your ears and feel it. when the buzzer finally sounded and you watched all the guys jump onto the ice, forming a dog pile was when you finally let yourself feel.
all the previous wins in the series were exciting, but you were always thinking about the next one. this time, however, you could finally celebrate. you fell back into your seat, dropped your head into your hands, and just started crying.
when you stood back up, it still felt like a movie. watching them get to hoist the cup after years of it being in their grasp but just missing it, it was finally real, and they had finally done it.
your hand was gripping onto his mom's as you made your way down to the ice. all around you, family, friends, loved ones, coaches, everyone was trying to get down to the ice and find their guy. your head was on a swivel as you tried to find seth amongst everyone else.
someone in your group spotted him doing an interview, and could see he was holding on by a thread. you let him finish the interview before making your way over because you knew the moment he saw you, he was gonna burst into tears.
and you were right. the moment he saw his parents, he started crying. you let go of his mom’s hand, and watched as his mom and dad embraced him, crying right alongside him.
they said something you couldn’t hear and it also felt weird to intrude in such an intimate moment so you simply watched, a proud smile on your face and tears glistening in your eyes.
after a few minutes, he let go and turned his attention to you. he opened his arms and you melted into his arms, wrapping your arms around his waist and tucking your face into his neck. you felt his body shake and knew he was filled with emotion.
“you did it!” you exclaimed, pulling away and cupping his face. you smiled, pulling him into a kiss before hugging him again. “i’m so proud of you!” you spoke into his ear.
“i wouldn’t be here without you.” he whispered back, his voice cracking and thick with emotion he didn’t know how to express. “you’re as much of a winner here as i am, baby!”
you cried a little harder at that before pulling away and giving him a tearful smile. you gave him one last kiss before stepping back and letting the gaggle of guys who had come along on the ride with you.
you wiped at your eyes, taking a step back and looking around, taking everything in for a moment and enjoying the energy and atmosphere.
a few hours later, seth was gone. like, so far gone he wasn’t on the planet anymore. drink after drink had been handed to him, and never wanting to miss out on the party, he drank every single one of them.
you were sitting at a table, a smile on your face as you watched the cup get hoisted around the room. the moment it was raised, everyone in the bar cheered louder than you had heard before. you kept a close eye on seth.
he made his way over to you, singing loudly to whatever song was blaring through the speakers of the bar. you wrapped your arms around his neck, a smile on your face.
“have you been drinking water?” you asked, offering him a fresh glass of ice water. he took a small sip before going back to whatever alcoholic drink was in his other hand. “wishful thinking.” you joked under your breath.
“i’ve been thinking for a while now,” you tilted your head to the side at the sudden seriousness in his voice. “i’m getting a ring this year, but i don’t want to be the only one.” it took a few minutes to understand with the alcohol in your system as well as the music booming in your veins.
“what are you saying?” your brows pulled together in confusion.
“i’m asking you to marry me.” he looked hopeful, “will you marry me? spend the rest of our lives together?” he set his drink down, and put his hands on your shoulders and looking you in the eyes with such love and earnestness it made your heart stutter.
“are you drunk, seth?” you asked, not wanting to get your hopes up, but also wanting to say yes at the same time.
“i’m sober enough to know this is what i want and something i’ve wanted since we got partnered up in chemistry.” he stated.
you took a breath, staring at him in the eye and trying to gauge if he was being serious. when you saw he wasn’t backing down, you knew he was being for real.
“all right, yeah.” you finally nodded, “let’s get married.” the words barely left your mouth before he was breaking out into a smile, and picking you up off the chair you were sitting in, spinning you around and cheering.
“seth-!”
“we’re getting married!” he shouted basically at the top of his lungs, pulling you along as everyone, albeit drunk, patted him and you on the back, cheering for you both.
almost four months later, you were walking into lenovo. you hadn’t seen a lot of the girls since the season had ended, a lot of them going home, so you hadn’t gotten a chance to tell them your exciting news.
the off season had been one of the busiest but most exciting of your lives. seth had a cup win under his belt, you had gotten married over the summer (you had been too excited to wait), and of course, the secret only the people closest to you knew, you were three almost four months pregnant.
you walked into the family section, a smile on your face. the moment the girls saw you, their jaws dropped.
“y/n y/l/n…” they all gasped, standing up to greet you and taking in your growing bump that hadn’t been there the last time they saw you.
“surprise!” you smiled, accepting all of their hugs and congratulations.
“how far along are you?”
“almost four months.” there was a moment of silence, and you watched as each of them did the math in their heads. a look of realization crossed all of their faces. “yeah…” you nodded sheepishly.
“you’re having yourself a little cup baby!” they all cheered, congratulating you all over again and hugging you. by the end of the night, everyone in the locker room knew and seth sent you a text, telling you he had been teased by every single guy.
“that’s what you get, mr. jarvis.” you teased him with a smile.
Ok hear me out best friend reader joking with John Marino all the time saying he’s her sugar daddy because he’s always buying her things when they go out together but he actually has had a crush on her for years and finally take the chance to ask her out with the promise that he’ll keep buying her things (she actually hates that he buys her so much because she doesn’t want him to think that’s why she’s in his life)
JUST JOHN
i'm really sorry whoa i've been so lacking. there's been a lot going on in my life rn, but i'm trying to be more active. thank you for being so patient <3
THE GREAT PLAYOFF BLURB EVENT
you had known john since he moved to utah. you ran in some of the same circles, and from that first moment you met at a friend's party, you had been inseparable. when john was home, you were most likely at his house, just lounging around. when he was away, his phone was glued to his hand, and if someone saw him texting, it was no question who he was texting.
as soon as the plane touched down, john was on the phone. no one even batted an eye as they walked off the plane, and he was too distracted to say goodbye. they'd see him in a few days anyway, so they watched him go.
"hi, john." the moment john heard your voice crackle through the other end of the phone, it felt like all was right in the world. his body was physically relaxed, and he felt at peace.
"hi," he greeted with an almost giddy smile as he dropped his stuff into the passenger seat. "just landed, heading home now," he informed you.
"all right, i'm at your place already," you told him. he could hear you shuffling around a little, and couldn't help but smile. "see you soon?"
"yeah, see you soon," he hummed. he hung up and quickly put the car in drive, making his way home.
the porch light was on when he pulled up to his house, and he couldn't help but smile. you always left it on when you knew he was coming home. it wasn't too late, but it was late enough that the light was the only one on.
he gathered his bags and made his way up the small path to the front door. he couldn't even pull out his keys before the door was whipped open, and there you were, standing in his entryway with a big smile on your face.
"hi." you greeted.
"hi." he repeated, setting his bags down, and bending down, wrapping his arms around you. the moment you were in his arms, he felt his shoulders drop, and he let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding.
"you okay?" you asked, pulling away just enough to look at his face. he didn't respond verbally, simply nodded his head. "all right, well come in. you're probably tired." you pulled away and stepped further into the house, waiting for him to follow.
it took him less than an hour to take a shower and change into more comfortable clothes before he was sitting next to you on the couch, comfortably. your legs were stretched out across his lap while he tapped away at his phone.
"are you hungry?" he asked suddenly. you glanced over at him and nodded. "come on, i could go for some food." he genlty pushed your legs off, and rose from the couch, offering you his hand.
you soon found yourself in the car, sitting in the passenger seat and scrolling through john's playlist, trying to find a good song amongst all of his weird ones.
he pulled into the drive-thru of a taco bell, and ordered what he wanted easily, then looked over at you, waiting for you to order.
"john..." you shook your head.
"just order, don't keep laura waiting," he joked, referring to the woman at the other end of the box. you rolled your eyes and ordered your food qucikly pulling up to the first window and paying. you got your food just as fast, and before you knew it, you were driving off. the second you were out of the taco bell parking lot, you were glaring at him. "what?" he asked innocently.
"you have to stop paying for my stuff," you insisted, shaking your head at him. "i don't need my sugar daddy buying me stuff."
he rolled his eyes at the nickname. it was one that had been thrown around your friendship for a while, just because whenever you went out, he wouldn't let you pay for anything, and no matter how much you tried to pay, he managed to tap his card before you could.
"it's just taco bell." he reminded with a shrug, pulling into a nearby empty parking lot and putting the car in park, digging into the bag in your lap.
"john," you sighed again.
he paused, looking at a lamp post nearby for a moment, seemingly deep in thought. it took him a few minutes to break from the trance and he looked over at you.
"look, i really like you, and i want to take you out." you stared at him, wide-eyed, like he had grown a third head.
"is that why you've been buying me all this stuff?" you asked, taking a sip of your drink, trying to process what he was saying.
"yes." you tilted your head to the side, "no!" he exclaimed. "i like you for you. you see me, not just my money or what i can offer. you see me as john." you smiled.
"i'll go out with you," he broke out into a smile, moving in to give you a hug, "but!" he stopped, "only if you let me pay for the dinner." he couldn't help but laugh.
thank you so lucy for all your birthday wishes!! i did see all of them, and im sorry i didn’t respond to all of them. you all mean so much to me, i love you all!!! 🩷🩷
omg girl LOVE the idea of canes night! you already know i’m down for anything with freddie! i’m starved for him 🥰🥰 love love love u and can’t wait to see what you come up with
BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
it's my birthday today!! so, in honor of that, here's a blurb for you! (also, i love fred so this is perf for today!!)
TAYLOR'S CANES NIGHT!
freddie knew, even if you didn't say it, you missed your friends. moving to carolina was a big thing for you, and something you would have done again in a heartbeat, but you missed your core group of friends, the girls who had been with you since high school.
you had made new friends and cherished them the same way you had to your oldest friends, but there was just something about that group of friends who had been through everything together with you.
so, with your birthday coming up, he decided to do something special for you. because they were your friends, he was in contact with them, asking them questions about what your favorite cookie recipe was from when you were a kid or where that place was that you went on vacation when you were five and had claimed was 'the best vacation ever'.
he enlisted them a few months before, making sure to clear their schedules and have their flights booked. they would, of course, stay in one of the many bedrooms in your house, and he would pick them up from the airport.
together, freddie and your three best friends managed to plan the best birthday dinner. freddie would drop off the three girls at the restaurant a few hours before, giving them time to set everything up with the help of the staff.
freddie would then go back home and get ready for dinner with you. he had told you it would just be a lowkey dinner between the two of you, and then the two of you would drive to the restaurant. then, you would be led into a small private room where your three friends were waiting, and everything would be right in the world.
a few hours before the dinner, freddie managed to get out of the house on the guise of picking something up from the store. he picked up all three of your friends, all of them gushing over how he was the best husband in the world, then they got dropped off at the restaurant.
arriving back home, he picked up the bag of fake groceries he had gone to the store for, and stored all the luggage in the garage somewhere you would never look. you greeted him with a smile as soon as he walked in, completely oblivious to his plan.
"so, what time is dinner tonight?" you asked, glancing up from your phone.
"we should leave around 5:45," he said, pressing a kiss to your head as he passed by the couch and headed into the kitchen, putting his fake groceries away.
"all right, i'll have enough time to get ready then." you hummed, going back to whatever was on your phone.
a few hours later, you were driving to the restaurant, still unaware of the surprise that awaited you. he parked the car and climbed out to the other side, opening your door.
"thank you." you smiled, leaning up and pressing a kiss to his cheek. you laced your hand through his, and followed his lead into the restaurant. it was one of your favorites, so you were already planning what you were going to get in your head.
"all right, mr. andersen, right this way." the waiter smiled, leading you furhter into the building. you were confused, it was only the two of you and you were being led into a private room.
"fred..."
"just wait." he stopped you with a smile, gently moving you in front of him so you were walking ahead of him. the doors opened, and you let out a gasp as soon as you saw was inside.
"oh, my god!" you dropped freddie's hand, and rushed into the room, practically jumping into their arms.
"surprise!" they all cheered, wrapping you even tighter in a hug. you pulled away, but no words came out; you were so surprised. you wiped your eyes, pulling them back into a hug.
"what're you guys doing here?" you finally managed to get out.
"well, freddie thought you could use some friends on your birthday." one of them hummed, a sad smile on her face as she wiped a fallen tear.
"freddie..." you hummed with a nod. you turned around to face him. a smile was on his face, one of those smiles that was full of love and nothing else. "thank you," you mumbled, wrapping your arms around him in a big hug.
"you're welcome, baby." he hummed into your hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "now, go enjoy your birthday!" he pulled away, and gently nudged you in the direction of your friends. you smiled, squeezing his hand once more before turning around to your girls.
I beg you to please write anything featuring Svechnikov. He doesn’t get enough fic love imo if you also wanted to make it slightly angsty 👀 but I’ll take anything! 👉🏻👈🏻

THE GREAT PLAYOFF BLURB EVENT
you had been waiting for andrei to get home all day. he left before you were awake and hadn't been responding to your texts, which wasn't unusual considering he was at practice then at a team lunch after.
you had been busy with work the past few days and had been missing him. you had seen him here and there, before you left and at night, but that had been it and you were missing yout boyfriend. for the first time in weeks, you were both free for a few hours and you wanted to spend that time with him.
as soon as you heard his car pull up outside, you were on your feet and making your way to the front door. you opened the door and watched as he parked his car and climbed out.
you were so excited to see him, you didn't see the look on andrei's face. since the moment his eyes opened, he was in a bad mood. he had a bad kink in his neck, he woke up too late and didn't have time to enjoy his breakfast, and instead he had to eat it in the car. when he arrived at the rink, it felt like the trainers and coaches were focusing on him more and pushing him harder than anyone else.
after practice, he got in his car and was low on gas, so he had to wait to get home eat lunch, and get gas. and now, here he was at home, and all he wanted to do was eat lunch and take a nap. he gathered his stuff from the passenger seat and headed to the front door.
"hi, drei." you greeted, a smile on your face. he mumbled something under his breath, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek. you followed him into the house, talking his ear off about god knows what. he didn't know what you were saying, and in his haze of hunger and exhaustion, he just wanted you to stop talking.
"can you just stop talking!" he finally shouted, practically throwing his stuff to the ground, and whipping around to face you. when he fianlly met your eyes, you were stadning there, shocked and wide-eyed.
your mouth was frozen in shock; it was almost like your body was stuck. never, in your entire relationship, had andrei ever raised his voice at you. he rarely ever got mad. you opened your mouth, then closed it again when no words came out.
"y/n, wait-" your brain started working the moment his voice went soft, and you reached for your keys, still in a confused daze. you slipped on the first pair of shoes you saw and walked right out the door, saying nothing to andrei. "y/n, wait!" he tried again, but you were walking at a speed he had never seen, and were out the door before his feet could catch up to his brain.
he followed you out the door and could only watch as your car drove further and further down the street and away from him. he closed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. "damn it!" he cursed, going back inside and grabbing his phone.
for an entire hour, he tried to call you, but every time he called, it went straight to voicemail. his texts were delivered, so your phone was probably just off. he sat down and ate a sandwich, but with every bite, he couldn't taste anything.
after three hours, he heard your car pull up, and he was on his feet and out the door. just as you had a few hours ago, he watched you park and slowly climb out of your car. you knew he was standing there, but you didn't acknowledge him.
"y/n..." you walked right past him and into the house. he followed right after you, locking the door and turning off the porch lights. he followed you through the entire house before you ended up in your bedroom.
you said nothing as you got ready for bed, and all andrei could do was watch. when you finally climbed into bed was when he decided to break the silence.
"i'm really sorry." he said into the darkness. the lights were out, the noise machine was going, and all he could do was hope he could hear him and hear the sincerity in his voice.
you knew he meant it, but that didn't mean it didn't still hurt. you blew out a heavy breath and closed your eyes, getting your thoughts in order before responding.
"you really hurt me, andrei." at the use of his full name, he knew you were hurt and really meant it. "i never, ever, want to feel the way i did again." he said nothing, letting you speak and giving you the time you needed to get your thoughts out. "i understand you had a hard day today, but that doesn't meant you can take it out on me."
"i know, i understand." andrei nodded, closing his eyes and feeling tears prick.
"and if you ever treat me like that again, you'll never see me." you stated, looking over at him. he met your eyes in the darkness, and could see you really meant it.
