let me be clear…it’s not that I don’t ship Radrian. I will always have a special place in my heart for Rose and Adrian because I just want ADRIAN to be happy, and at that moment, it was Rose who made him happy(or so he thought…). 

When she broke his heart the way she did…(using him as a way to get Dimitri out of her head) I started to dislike her. But I still love her, I loved reading VA through her POV. and that would never change.

However; I was in love with Sydney when I first met her, I mean, I don’t know if it was her anti-social behavior, or the way she was able to overlook years of brainwashed-ness to help a Dhampir. Time and Time again.

I can not stand when people say “I can not stand the idea of Sydrian because Rose and Adrian are my OTP.” thus enforcing their “not reading Bloodlines.“ stand. I mean, that’s fine, do what you please, but when I see people trying to knock Sydney, and dilute what Adrian feels for her by claiming it as a ”distraction to forget Rose.“ like…really?

When Adrian Ivashkov said:

I tried to be a better person for her– but it was to impress her, to get her to want me. But when I’m around you, I want to be better because… well, because it feels right. Because I want to. You make me want to become something greater than myself. I want to excel. You inspire me in every act, every word, every glance. I look at you, and you’re like… like light made into flesh. That was the moment I lost my shit. I mean, I was already so far in love with Sydrian, but when he explained the difference between his love for Sydney and Rose…I. Lost. It. 

I’m not denying what he felt for Rose, because what he felt for her was real. So real. and she destroyed him. I remember in Bloodlines how…miserable he was, how quiet he was, and then Sydney started coming around and eased some of his pain by simply being.

and someone said Adrian and Sydney don’t have cute moments…how would you know if you refuse to read the books? I mean to say “Sydney and Adrian aren’t as cute as Adrian and Rose.” but you have not read the books. .

Anyways; I think arguing this is invalidated by who Rose chose (lol, say that out loud.) and really, Adrian’s happiness should be top priority after what Rose did to him.

Sydney is a far better match for Adrian. Rose constantly knocked Adrian down and she said some awful things to and about him throughout the series. What was ‘constructive criticism’ to her was honestly along the lines of verbal abuse and degradation. Rose liked Adrian sure, but never loved him and that relationship would have been so toxic. She called Adrian cowardly for coping with Tatiana’s death in the only way he knew how. She said he wasn’t very useful,she used him for money, she only wanted to sleep with him after Dimitri rejected her and her feelings were hurt and she didnt even bother breaking things off with Adrian after she cheated on him because he could still be useful to her. Sydney would NEVER. She saw Adrian for who he was and knew he was better. She believed in him and encouraged him even when he doubted himself, she was patient with him which was exactly what he needed. He gets beat down enough by his own father, he can be unstable, his moods do turn dark because of many reasons. Sydney silences all of that and makes him feel at peace and they had PLENTY of cute moments throughout Bloodlines that I honestly can’t even count them all on both of my hands. Rose never did any of that. It was a constant fight for her attention and she used, cheated and talked down to Adrian.

Basically, Sydrian is the best pairing in my eyes because they are happy and healthy together. They understand each others needs whereas Rose was very one sided and only wanted Adrian when it suited her or when she felt rejected by Dimitri.

The temperature jumped another ninety degrees. Why couldn’t anyone see in my life how awesome Noah was? I shoved up my sleeves, welcoming the cold air on my skin. “Echo, stop!” Ashley propelled her self out of the gliter. I froze and then remembered Ashley was damaged. I was going on a date, not to Vegas to elope. Noah’s strong hand slipped over my wrist before he entwined his fingers with mine. The sensation of warm flesh against an area I allowed no one to see, much less touch, caused me to shiver. My eyes widened, realizing my mistake. This is what had freaked Ashley out. What had come over me? I never pulled up my sleeves. I spent all my time pulling them down. When had I become…comfortable? He rubbed his thumb over my hand. “I planned on taking her to my house to meet some of my friends.” Noah could have told them he was getting me to the ghetto to buy us crack and they wouldn’t have heard him. Ashley stood in place, staring at my exposed scars as my father stared at our combined hands. I reached over to pull down my sleeve, but Noah casually placed his hand over my forearm, preventing me fron doing it. My lungs squeezed out all the oxygen in my body. Noah Hutchins, in fact, a human being, was overtly, on purpose, touching my scars. I’d stopped breathing moments ago, as had Ashley. Noah continued as nothing earth-shattering had happened. “What time does Echo need to be home?” Blinking my self back to life, I answered for them, “My curfew is eleven.” “Twelve.” My father stood and extended his hand. “I didn’t have a chance to properly introduce myself earlier. I’m Owen Emerson.”

ok i need to talk about this particular part of TDM that’s seemingly always slept on because it’s one of my All Time favourite scenes and it’s so important

In Chapter 20 (page 312), there’s this section: 

“What?” he whispered. “What are you smiling about?”

My fingers brushed against his hair, trying to smooth it down. I realized what I was doing a full minute after Liam had closed his eyes and leaned into my touch. Embarrassment flared up in my chest, but he grabbed my hand before I could pull back and tucked it under his chin.

“Nope,” he whispered, when I tried to tug it away. “Mine now.”

Dangerous. This is dangerous. The warning was fleeting, banished to the back corners of my mind, where it wouldn’t interrupt how good it felt to touch him—how right. 

“I’m going to need it back eventually,” I said, letting him run it along the stubble on his chin.

“Too bad.”

THIS SCENE means so much to me, let’s reflect on why really quick:

My queen, Ruby Elizabeth Daly, has spent the last six years of her life in the most treacherous conditions, terrified to touch or be touched by anybody. This poor cinnamon roll has lived in fear from the age of ten onward. Here in front of her, she has this beautiful boy with the bluest eyes and the kindest heart, who has been soOoo patient with her since they met. 

This scene, friends and neighbours, is so incredibly important because Ruby is letting herself, for the first time in six damn years, touch not only another person, but someone who she holds so much care for. In her mind, she knows it’s dangerous, but guys!! She’s pushing past the fear and giving into something that she wants for the first time in so freaking long!! This particular moment (to me) is so symbolic of what’s to come for her and Liam because when she reaches out to him, Lee keeps her there with him, letting her know that !!!!! it’s okay to want to go for what you want—that he’s not going to let this fear keep him from being with her or there for her. That he’s not going to leave, even if Ruby pulls away because of what she is afraid of; especially if she’s afraid of what she’s going to do to him without intentions of inflicting pain—especially if she is afraid of herself, because Liam understands Ruby, and will never, never, never leave her to fight her demons alone.

After they have this marvelous little (massive) moment, Ruby Tuesday starts to open up to Puppy Lee about her Orange abilities as he inquires. When she tries to pull away after he asks if she was in his head (because TDM Chapter 20 Ruby chooses flight rather than fight in most situations), Liam holds on tighter, telling Ruby that he isn’t mad (because he knows this about TDM Chapter 20 Ruby). THEN !!! when they’re holding hands, Liam asks if it’s okay—and we all know that if she said no, he would have nodded with a smile and let her hand go, but wouldn’t have left her side. This entire passage is so symbolic of their relationship guys!!!! The patience, the reaching out, the holding on even when things get tough? Not only this, but all of the following Luby Rubiam parts happen because of this one?? This scene means the world to me and I can’t stress it or its importance enough.

THE DARKEST LEGACY SPOILERS ✨✨

of course these nerds made their own camp with TEN TREE HOUSES. i actually hate them

when they find the trio they turn into parent mode right away

liam bumps up the dad jokes up like 50 notches

they constantly take the kids out at night so they know how their world look like outside of haven

lots of road trips and stargazing

the kids all learn to drive at the prime age of fourteen

they learn the most important rule when it comes to driving: driver picks the music

he would literally create his own little haven drivers ed

rubiam have little graduations for the kids (do not deny this)

even though ruby is incredibly smart, math? not a fan. so lee takes that subject

he ends up like the dad in the incredibles two trailer 

kids: “that’s not what it says in the textbook uncle chubs sent us”

liam: “for the last time, it’s grandpa chubs. and well, when has he ever been right??”

ruby: “literally always.”

the kids never get to experience bonfires due to security reasons so next best thing? s’mores in the microwave 

this secret thing is only done when ruby gone. liam may be dumb sometimes but he doesn’t want to die you know 

liam once exploded the microwave doing this

and thanks to his great luck ruby came through the door 

she sighed heavily, “you know sometimes i wonder why i ran away with you?”

the whole zu shrine was all liam’s idea. that’s literally canon

ruby: “i mean i love zu, but don’t you think she will think we are creepily obsessed with her.”

liam; “ANNDDD???” he says as he nails a huge ass poster of zu onto the wall

liam for sure introduced ruby to the old lady that gave them the haven house as ruby stewart and still blushed when she called ruby that. whatta nerd

he was fallen out of too many tree houses it’s really a miracle he is still alive

when jacob and miguel got together liam’s eyebrow did that thing it does when he finds out someone is with someone (aka vida and chubs)

which ruby has a score board of the highest his eyebrow raised and vida and chubs has never been beaten 

ruby once found all the deformed wooden animals liam makes and heard the story from one of the younger kids and now keeps a small turtle with her in her bag at all times

okay we know ruby is a huge fan of sweaters right?

well one time liam walked down in one of her sweaters and she had to leave the room

she decided she was gonna leave it as long as possible and took secret pictures the whole day leading up to dinner

at dinner NONE of the haven kids could keep it together

specifically sasha 

she burst out laughing which had everyone pointing and laughing until ruby explained that it was her sweater

“yeah bc you stole it from me”

“no honey that sweater is tighter on you than chubs’s fists in your presence”

“well i think i rock it”

get you a bf that steals your clothes am i right??

okay the first time one of the kids called ruby and liam, mom or dad they cry

 BUT WHEN JACOB CALLED THEM MOM AND DAD 

SO MUCH SOBBING

he’s really quiet and despite being with them for a long time he just never called them mom and dad, and they never expected that from ANY of the kids

they understand that they had real parents, but they still love it and cry so much 

well ruby has a cinematic single tear and liam sobs for days but you get the point

date night at haven is just really cute things the kids set up

once they went out to the boat and liam tried to be romantic and kiss ruby

but in true liam fashion fell straight into the lake

the best part about this was lisa was taking pictures with the camera ruby bought her and got the exact moment liam was falling 

the pure thought of that picture has ruby in tears

she sent it to chubs right away

his response: “you haven’t talked to me in months and this is what i get??” 

MOVIE NIGHT AT HAVEN??? i think yes

jacob and miguel spent ALL DAY setting the projector and screen up outside 

then. then liam comes out with a bowl full of popcorn 

he heard a rumor from one of the littles that they were gonna be watching bolt. and he got excited bc he loves that movie

puppy lee wasn’t gonna miss the chance to see a fellow puppy on the screen they are practically cousins 

so anyways with this excitement he trips. what. a. surprise.

he takes down the whole set up

it only takes 2 seconds before everyone started throwing popcorn at him

he is legit the meme of the house

ruby has so many pictures of liam on her phone that she sends to the older kids so they can make memes behind his back. great bonding activity

with this new house ruby begs vida to leave books around so she can go pick them up later 

its real cute

so with these new books liam realized something

ruby has a distraction

distraction = less cuddles. its science

less cuddles is NOT an option. NOPE

he will purposely wear his softest flannel to bed in the middle of summer 

he is legit sweating bullets but won’t take it off until ruby is so close that he can’t breathe

he ends up so sweaty ruby doesn’t want to cuddle anyways

everything at haven is half fixed

plummer lee right?? experience: turning on the faucet

one time ruby went to take a shower and the whole metal thing flew off 

she called harry asap

and now he comes by when liam is out to fix everything he broke

liam stewart: master of fixing cars and motorcycles, but cannot turn on the toaster

the oven handle once broke when he tried to lean on it while flirting with ruby
