Bones doodles. the two on the bottom are more story-based for him, the one on top is more vent-y. The bottom two are essentially Bones trying to learn how to live outside of his facility and finds out he doesn't really look like other kids. Leon helps him learn how to be a kid and teaches him vocabulary. He also helps Bones adapt to not having to be ready for combat as much.

Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.

The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.

I didn't.

I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.

Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.

That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.

beach trip baking assistant library visit

꒰ 🌊🍦꒱ beach day with claire

claire is known to be a little spontaneous, when she gets an itch to pick and go she’s inclined to scratch it, especially when it gives her a chance to share memories with you. on the drive down she tells you stories about the beach trips she took as a kid or even some from her college years. she’s a lay on the beach kinda girl, she prefers to bring a book and a beer and relax for a few hours but she spends a lot of time wading while you splash around just to be near you. she helps you build a castle and transport water in a bucket to wet sand.

she doesn’t end up reading much of her book at all and at some point her beer goes warm but she doesn’t mind. she lathers sunscreen on your face even when you’re wriggling around and trying to whine your way out of it, for extra protection she makes sure to pop a sun hat on you. she takes a bunch of photos but mostly of the landscape, you have to remind her to take some selfies because chris and sherry will want to see. claire would go for a less populated section of the beach but she’d drive you to the boardwalk at some point to get a little sweet treat like ice cream or cotton candy.

꒰ ☕️🧁꒱ baking with ada

ada doesn’t love cooking so much but she’ll always enjoy a chance to bake. she likes complex recipes and treats if something like a science. when she’s baking she likes to be left alone unless, of course, you would like to join. whenever you feel like putting on your chefs hat ada will leaf through a recipe book — it’s bound in leather, well worn but taken care of despite its age, and written in equal parts english and mandarin — until she finds something sweet that she thinks you might enjoy. ada, usually very focused and no nonsense, is known to be very silly with you in the kitchen. it’s a lot of ‘yes chef’ , ‘no chef’ ‘very good chef’ like you’ve seen in one of leons cooking shows.

you ask to lick the spoon and she’s hesitant but you look at her with a very serious expression and say you have to make sure it hasn’t been poisoned and ada indulges you because of course she does.

“well,” she’ll prod after you’ve licked a spatula clean. “poison free?”

to which you reply: “yes chef!”

she lets you play in the flour left behind on the counter, drawing little doodles in it, and she always gives you jobs to do so you feel like you’re actually helping even though she’s doing most of the work while you find things to play with and get into around the kitchen. when everything is in the oven she helps you wash your hands and scrub any icing from your cheek before suggesting you both read a book while you wait for the sweets to be done.

꒰ 📚🧸꒱ library with chris

chris always keeps up with the events at the local library and the two of you are avid ‘story time’ enjoyers. you make a whole afternoon of it and you’re always excited when chris brings you your bag and helps you start getting ready to go to the library. your library backpack is filled with a few toys, some small snacks, your water bottle in the side pouch, and all the books you need to return from last time. once you and chris check and double check you’re out the door.

the library isn’t far, it’s located in a cozy little strip and on some trips chris will take you by a cafe near by to get a little treat beforehand.

you’re pretty familiar faces and are usually greeted at the door. chris walks with you as you wander around before story time, he carries tour bag and any new books that catch your eye. he asks what the book you’re holding is about and listens with his full attention while you explain. during story time he’ll sit on one of the floor cushions with you, cris cross so you can sit in his lap and lean back against his chest. when her story is over he always asks you what your favorite part was, what your least favorite part was, what was the silliest.

you never leave without both of you checking out a new book. when chris wants to look in the adult section he’ll help you get your toys out or get comfy and start on a book while you wait, sometimes you trail him to the adult section and ask him what he’s reading like he does to you. at the end of every trip you’ve got at least three new books to read and are usually ready to doze off in the car.
