Listening to your body and working out at the pace and skill level you need is always going to be better for your health and progress than pushing through what your body isn’t ready for

I understand disliking the movie, but I will never understand people who dislike Snow White as a character

The amount of people who have come to love and defend Cinderella in the past few years but still shit on Snow White is astonishing. Why the hell is someone trying to tell me that Snow going through the same trauma of being turned into a slave by her stepmother not actually traumatic because she lived with the dwarfs for three days? “She got out for several days and Cinderella only got a night” a) that doesn’t remove the trauma, b) Snow was only free from her stepmother because she was actively trying to KILL her, c) Cinderella only returned home to her abusers for a few hours and was then free for the rest of her life. Cinderella and Snow White are both women who were kept away from the world and forced into servitude because of the jealousy of a bitter person in their life who chose to be kind and have hope that things would improve.

“She’s 14 and married a 31 year old man!” Not only is this false information but also, your response to child characters being groomed shouldn’t be to hate the child character. The prince being in his 30s is a purely fanon invention, with the only remaining “sources” on the internet being articles with no affiliation to Disney and no citations. The oldest records of these claims come from Twitter and Reddit and most have since been deleted. Snow White being 14 come from The Art of Walt Disney, which includes concept art and commentary for the making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (among other things), this is also where the claim of the prince being 18 comes from. These ages are actually in reference to a visual goal for the characters in order to make them both look youthful, the characters weren’t strictly drawn or written at these ages and their true ages were left intentionally ambiguous. Snow’s animators even had different opinions on how old she is, some seeing her as around 12-15, and others around 16-20. Although subtle, the difference can be seen in different point of the movie done by different animators. She was sometimes drawn extremely wide eyed with a soft childlike face. Other times slightly longer more angular face and more prominent makeup similar to characters like Betty Boop and sometimes a slimmer waist, while still having wide eyes, round features and a non curvy frame, they were more reflective of the popular animation style of the late 30s and keeping the character identifiably the same than it was the intended age of the character.

Finding her boring is the one thing I can’t entirely argue. If you don’t find characters like Snow interesting, there’s not much I can do about that. But most people who find her boring tend to be those who haven’t actually seen the movie in several years. Snow White is sassy when it’s fit, often teasing Grumpy in particular. She chooses to be kind and gentle, not because she is a pushover but because she knows what it’s like to not be show kindness, while she has every right to be, she doesn’t have to be bitter and outwardly angry. Snow may be naive, but naivety isn’t an inherently lazy character flaw, and in a world with known magic, accepting a wishing apple offered to you in gratitude for saving a life isn’t the insanely stupid decision you all make it out to be.
