i remember when i was smaller, i learned the word pterodactyl in a book and figured "ok some letter is probably silent, this doesn't seem pronounceable to say everything" and so i figured it was the "t" that was silent because "perodactyl" made me think "para-dactyl" and i associated "para" with flight (because of mario, paragoombas and koopa paratroopas, thought they had "para" in their names because they had wings)

and that's the story of how i thought there was another dinosaur called a dactyl (aka a wingless pterodactyl)

i dislike how i vary from being very empathetic to almost completely apathetic, it concerns me sometimes
