People fear what they don’t understand. People fear their own insecurities and weaknesses.
“Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel.“
I’m just under two weeks away from completing my first round of P90X. It has been an INCREDIBLE journey and I’m stoked to say I will be doing a second round of it after.
(And maybe a third, fourth, and fifth, who knows?)
I have learned how fit I can be and how amazing being STRONG feels. Aside from the workouts, over the past two years I have been altering the way I eat to make me feel better. I do not eat dairy, gluten, soy, processed foods, or added sugar, and it is wonderful. Knowing that you can eat as much as you want until you are full because everything you put in your body is GOOD for your body.
So, the downside? Well, I don’t like referring to it as a downside, but I guess that is the best way to put it. Other people are the downside.
Going out to eat with others. Going to other people’s homes for meals. Going to weddings and parties and potlucks. These are difficult situations.
I am still learning how to communicate to others my lifestyle changes without making them feel uncomfortable about it. Which, if I really think about it, is quite dumb. I’m not doing ANY of this TO them. I’m doing it FOR myself. It is such a struggle feeling like I have to make my lifestyle “not a big deal” in order for others to feel okay when, in reality, it IS a big deal! This is my health! And I LOVE that it is a big deal!
This article, more than anything, is great to relate to if you are making a positive and healthy change. People have their insecurities, and that is their problem. You are not trying to offend them by doing something good for yourself. Just don’t rub it in their face -- know that everyone has a choice, and yours being a positive one SHOULD make you feel good about yourself.
It’s 3 P.M. and you’re fading at work. While you may be shooting yourself in the foot with poor food choices (we’re looking at you, morning donut and vending machine temptations) or not getting enough sleep (five hours isn’t cutting it), you need something you can do right now to make it through the rest of the work day. If...
I have stopped drinking caffeine after lunch to help me sleep better. However, I still have parts of my day where I need to be productive but it is past okay-to-have-caffeine time.
Stoked to also implement these into my routine!
Validation Through The Internet
I still do it, even though I know it is shallow and oftentimes brings more disappointment than satisfaction. Maybe knowing I’m not the only one who does it is what keeps it appealing -- everyone wants someone to relate to.

Tired Body, Active Brain
Sometimes, no matter how many ways and times you look at it, a situation remains a series of questions without answers. It exists to be further analyzed, not solved.
(INFJ / ISFJ)Thank you, I'm reading the "Dominant Function" post but I still find Si and Ni really similar... I feel like I use NI but Si looks kinda the same for me ? Do you have any more question / exemple to help me differenciate them ?
Ni and Si are totally different and oriented in completely opposing directions. The only thing they have in common is that they both utilize past knowledge but in completely different ways and for different reasons. Si needs familiarity and this makes it prone to fearing future outcomes. ISFJs have inferior Ne which means they can indeed be intuitive but they are much more likely to intuit the future in a negative light and doubt their intuitions. Ni seeks understanding of things from as many different perspectives as possible; it wants to form a unified theory of reality so that it can accurately predict what is to come with great certainty. Ni only thinks about the past as a means to understanding the future, unlike Si which fundamentally needs the past in order to maintain an internal sense of stability into the future. They both care about the future but for very different reasons.
Ni looks for patterns and context, but Si looks for facts and details. Ni looks for gaps in understanding but Si looks for the known to cover up the gaps. It sounds like you’re not very clear about the differences between S/N, so read up on that because it is a fundamental concept. If you cannot understand the difference between Ni and Si, then the easiest way forward is probably to understand the inferior function in more detail as a way to confirm the dominant function.
Always good to have another perspective on an MBTI concept.
