YEONJUN @ LOLLAPALOOZA 2022
✧ • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEOKJIN! • ✧
Ra Ra Riot- “Water”
Been listening to this a lot today.
Opia- “Falling”
Loving this song by the duo made up of Jacob Reske and Cole Citrenbaum.
Jack Garratt- “Fire”
This guy is just so talented and this song is aptly named, as it is indeed “fire”.
His debut album was released only a few days ago.
DMA’S- “Delete”
This reminds me of early-mid 90s Brit Pop. Like sort of Oasis-like vibes? It’s clear that’s their influence.
Their debut album comes out on Feb. 26.
I haven’t updated this blog in months. I’m sorry. Tbh, I just haven’t been discovering too much new music...I’ve mostly been listening to older albums. However, I watching a tv show and heard a song I had posted a year ago and was inspired to start this back up.
Iwan Rheon- “Tongue Tied”
I fell in love with Iwan’s EPs years ago. He released his first full length album in 2015. This song was also on an EP; but this updated version on this album is just fantastic.
Halsey- “Colors”
I am obsessed with this song.
RHODES- “Turning Back Around”
RHODES is an up-and-coming singer from the UK who has been pounding out the EPs. This is a pretty mellow single, but I’m into it.
IRIS- “Follow Me”
I literally don’t know anything about this artist. I just know that (holy fuck) I am SO INTO this song. So danceable, fun, synthy, and powerful.
Anderson East- “Satisfy Me”
Wow. MAJOR Ray Lamontagne vibes here. Good thing is that I love him.
Super into this song at the moment. Google tells me that he is a rhythm and blues/pop artist from Alabama.
The Lone Bellow- “Take My Love”
Not going to lie, when I first heard this song I definitely thought it was Marcus Mumford; regardless, I’m totally in love with it.
Literally all I know about them is that they are from Brooklyn. And that this song makes me really happy.
CHVRCHES- “Leave A Trace”
I’m obsessed with CHVRCHES new single from their upcoming sophomore album.
Galantis- “Peanut Butter Jelly”
Sometimes you hear a pop song so ridiculous that at first you think, “Surely this is a joke...” but then you hear is more and suddenly you’re in deep. You’re defending it. You’re sharing it with friends. You’re screaming along to it in your car. You sing it in the shower.
For me, right now, it’s this song by the Swedish electronic duo, Galantis. I blogged their song, Runaway (U & I) a few months ago.
Enjoy the fun disco-esque drop.
Elle King- “Ex’s and Oh’s”
You can currently find me scream-singing along to this hit. It’s so fucking fun. I love the growl to her voice. There’s a good blues/rock quality to her voice.
Elle King is a 26 year old from Los Angeles. Wikipedia tells me that her father is Rob Schneider (but, let’s pretend she isn’t...because it sort of takes away from the sexiness of the song).
Rayland Baxter- “Yellow Eyes”
One of my favourite albums of all time is Whiskeytown’s, Strangers Almanac; apparently alt-country is my weakness. The twang guitar in the background...makes me think of that album.
Rayland Baxter is a musician from Tennessee. Fun fact: his dad, Bucky Baxter, has played guitar for such acts as Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, and R.E.M.
