Hey, can you keep a close eye on if, or I guess when, Indiana proposes VPN ban/OS age verification laws.
I want to you use you as my only source of age verification news for now because my OCD has gotten really bad and I have compulsively been looking at the age verification tag, not because I think I can make difference in a realistic way, but because I think god is real in only that if I don't look at the age verification tag all the time, I have doomed us all. Tbh I'm tired of my narcissistic weight of world on my back type of thoughts.
Also I don't like seeing repeat news and other people's vent posts that only serve to make me feel like shit and not any more ready to fight.
âïžđșđžSure! I will try to keep an eye on it for you! đșđžâïž
My lovely followers and Anons like you send me news all of the time (thank you guys! You are awesome! :D đ«đ). So I'm bound to get something about it even if I don't immediately see it!
I am currently tracking other age verfication bills in other states in the US so that I can report on them! I want to try to help as much as possible for everyone to get educated on these issues.
Here is a link to see what is currently going on in your state regarding age verfication bills in the US! đđșđž
Listen, this has been hard on all of us across the world. Many people are becoming scared and hopeless. That is how our governments want us to be! If they can scare us, we can not fight them! Please do not be afraid of them! We are the majority and stronger than they will ever be! If you need to feel free to take a break for your mental health. I have had to set boundaries and take mental health breaks for myself regarding these issues because of the same problems you are having. There are also a lot of organizations and people fighting for us behind the scenes on these issues people are not seeing, and it gives me so much hope â€ïž! Please keep fighting out there, Anon!
Maybe this sounds speculative on my part, but when they say "device level screening" (combined with the fact that the average person isn't going to be able to scan someone's private messages) makes me suspect that this "screening" is just going to be AI scanning similar to the EU, which comes with it's own issues!
Let's say you wanna show your friend a cute image of a dog for example! That AI could wrongfully flag that image as inappropriate! Meanwhile ACTUALLY inappropriate images would be completely ignored! AI is incredibly faulty!
The whole reason I think Kier's doing this is because he knows he'll be voted out soon (June 18th), so he wants to make these laws as difficult as possible to reverse before he does!
So holy crap...VOTE THIS GUY OUT!
âïžđŹđ§UK ONLINE SAFETY ACT/DIGITAL ID UPDATE!đŹđ§âïž
Keir Starmer and his crew literally set a standard till September for Apple/Google to scan a persons device for inappropriate stuff.
YES, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!
Here is what the Tweet says to understand how serious this is:
"Apple and Google have until September to install device-level safeguards preventing children from creating, sharing, or viewing nude images on phones and tablets. The controls would use local scanning technology, with adults able to opt out via age verification, building on the Online Safety Act to combat a surge in self-generated child abuse material."
(So they can't get the people in the Epstein Files, BUT they want to scan everyone elses devices for supposed CSAM đ€? This is a totally normal thing to do. Not setting up for facism or authoritarianism at all nope not here!)
Then, the UK also wants to set up a digital ID for devices/online stuff.
Quote from the Tweet:
"The Government mandating that all phones in Britain require ID and surveillance software is a crossing of the Rubicon that would make the UK one of the most authoritarian internet regimes in the world. This extreme technological censorship requires rigorous public and parliamentary scrutiny that is currently totally missing"
đŹđ§âïžHEY UK CAN YOU GET THESE PEOPLE OUT OF OFFICE STAT! THEY ARE LITERALLY GOING TO RUIN YOUR COUNTRY! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT TODAY!âïžđŹđ§
Here is also the voting thing @candyguts-blog mentioned if you wanna take a look:
(Thank you, @candyguts-blog , for the news :) đđ! I'm sorry the UK is getting so awful right now with these corrupt people in power. The US is currently fighting the same people. Within the past few weeks, social media bans, vpn bans, and system verfication laws keep popping up. It's been awful, so I can emphasize. Please keeing fighting out there and sharing the news! âïžâïž)
UK proposals for mandatory age verification will not mitigate childrenâs exposure to harmful content and âaddictiveâ app design, and risks e
The Foundation for Information Policy Research (FIPR) warned that many of the proposed solutions for age verification will exacerbate the harms they are trying to prevent, and could expose children to risks of blackmail and abuse.
The warning follows comments from technology secretary Liz Kendall that âdrasticâ action was needed to protect young people from social media, with nine out of 10 parents saying they are in favour of a ban in response to a government consultation.
FIPR said in evidence to the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology that mandatory age verification does not address harmful content on social media and could lead to many adults in the UK being excluded from digital services.
âWhile it is tempting to rely on âmagicâ technological fixes for online harm, these will not work, will concentrate even more power in the hands of large tech platforms, and will risk letting them off the hook for the wider social harms to which they contribute,â said Ben Collier, FIPR chair and senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
[...]
The think tank points out that many of the more technically focused approaches to age verification do not effectively mitigate childrenâs exposure to harmful content, âaddictiveâ app design, and risks to childrenâs privacy and security of their data, and could increase childrenâs exposure to them.
For age verification to be effective, both children and adults may be required to prove their age to use online services, for example, by providing biometric information, credit cards or government-issued identification to verification services or online sites.
This poses security and privacy risks for both adults and children, and requires users to trust the verification service will store their data securely and will not misuse or profit from the data provided, as Facebook did in 2018 when it came under fire for reusing phone numbers provided for account verification for advertising purposes.
Technology that detects the age of people from their face is trained on data from an average population, and tends to perform poorly with minority, ethnic, disabled, LGBT and other âstructurally disadvantaged groupsâ at risk of being excluded from social media and other internet sites, and could be further marginalised.
Such systems risk normalising repeated age checking across the internet, making it easier for hostile actors or criminals to use age verification to steal biometric data or credit card information.
I'm so unsure about this many folks follow me, this once supposed to be funny art blog with info dumping on silly ocs, now literally is spreading awareness on age verification laws that fucked and tracks us in our digital spaces, going after VPNs because how useless the laws they placed know dam well it won't work/ really deep in tech lobbyist pockets/ or they are old and out of touch that we're better off without them in power anymore (just retire, you got everything, leave us alone)
It's really weird you followed me out of everything in this hellsite had to offer, guess I thank you for your support
I really need this world to straighten itself out and be good in the future
That post about the roots of steampunk had a link to this song, and you need to understand YouTube had age restricted my account, not thinking-my-content-is-porn style, but thinking-I'm-a-literal-baby style, and it doesn't actually show age restricted videos of me at all, so I don't know what I'm missing. This was really stressing me as someone who always make sure to watch age restricted videos from people I'm subscribed to so the algorithm doesn't tank it too much. Anyway, I click on the song and it says I'm not allowed to see it because the name is "Fuck Yeah, the Working Class". That's a YouTube move if I've ever seen one, and this time it pisses me off so bad I decide to test some theories and make an account that isn't gonna get hit with censorship, and I finally figured it out!! Here's the way I did it*:
I got a VPN, set my location to Japan since it makes sites give me the option to choose between mature content or not, got Waterfox as a new browser just in case and I make a Google account. I make a new email for it too so it's not linked to my Google account. When it asks for verification, I take a phone linked to an account that's not restricted. I change the location on that phone as well, and I scan the QRs to proceed.
Inbetween QRs it actually lets me choose to NOT have Google spy on me in other apps to suggest videos based on that. I have no idea if this was an option when my own first Google account was made because my parents made it for me 14 years ago. That's how old it is and it still got age gated. I was ten years old and I still don't know why they made that account or what data sharing settings were put on it that can't be changed later. This is the version of protecting children that corporations can't be bothered to pretend to care about.
I had changed every privacy setting on that account that I could over the years, but I was still getting some very specific recommendations after looking at certain things. Including based on Duckduckgo searches, even.
Anyway I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Even if your country doesn't have age verification laws like Brazil does, you should real up on it because more of these laws pass everyday. Someone who's less of a slacktivist than I am will hopefully link who to call in different countries to get these bans reversed or not implemented in the first place
*some of these steps might be optional but I don't have a way to know which unless more people try this
Watch the video for more context. They wanna ban games under the social media ban. Why? No full explanation other than "protecting" kids. Christ what a day to be doxxed by leaked info from sketchy verification crap. I sure do enjoy losing basic shit to do online thanks to government manipulation. Sarcasm aside, call, email, even irl mail your reps and senators in places that are planning to copy this shit. Along with signing petitions against these laws both under the kosa and not under kosa shit. Anyway, stay alert, call it out and spread the word as best as you can like you are doing now.
The UK has age verification laws. However, this isnât the greatest idea for many reasons:
- Isolation of small communities making it more difficult for them to thrive
- Risk of data breaches making many vulnerable and exposed, especially if ID is compromised.
-Inaccurate appropriation for people, even worse with AI.
-vague ideas and little explanation on how this protects children and what exactly it does
- the vague guidelines means companies can get away with a lot of stealing personal, maybe more than is reasonable
- these methods of age verification can be tricked. this may encourage severely more illegal activity.
âââââ
So if any of these themes have called out to you, or inspired a concern of your own that hasnât been listed here, then you can write the UK government (even if youâre a minor and to an extent if youâre in a different country (there isnât much about it unfortunately, which I sincerely apologise even though itâs not my fault)
âïžMail Rulesâïž
- No threatening people. Obviously.ïżŒ( includes thinly veiled ones)
-Be understanding. These people often have to deal with many problems ( this isnât me defending them btw, just time aware), so be patient. If they havenât responded in two weeks, youâd be okay to add a follow up email.
- Keep it formal ( I donât know the likelihood of being heard if youâre informal)
-No continuous spam.
(As in reposting the same writing, topic can be the same, just focused on different things)
-Address them by their names ( self explanatory)

Deliveries can also be arranged in advance. These will be subject to a handling charge ( basically pay to get it delivered). This may be an option if your mail carriers arenât the most competent in your area. If you have any other questions about delivery, ask the Head of Logistics via 0207 219 7525.
Email.
All of your MPs and Lords have a email address. You can contact [email protected] and address it to a certain member, or search up their email address through this: https://members.parliament.uk/members/Lords for lords or https://members.parliament.uk/members/commons for MPs. If more than six copies of the same email are received, all will be deleted, so beware of spamming them.
Okay, should I choose an MP or a Lord? (or maybe someone else?)
MP
Speak locally for peopleâs issues and concerns ( if other locals opinions clashes heavily then they may decide not to speak for your cause)
If local, can be found here: https://members.parliament.uk/members/commons
Deals with stuff only responsible by the government, spends bits of times on different issues that may also not include laws and bills.
May be heavily busy, especially if important events
Pretty well known and popular
Lords
Spend 1/2 of their time reviewing bills and laws - heavily responsible for bills and laws!
Has been able to enact change (not as in MPs donât, but on the actual government website, it states that theyâve made much change)
Are highly educated on many subjects
Can be found here: https://members.parliament.uk/members/lords
Bicameral Offices
Work for both both the House of Commons and Lords.
Provides services to the work of the parliament (basically theyâre reliant on these services)
Have no influence over laws
All of them are listed here: https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/offices/bicameral/
Government minister/departments
Groups of people in a particular subject associated with the government (department) or a main person that is the âmanagerâ of a particular subject
Many collaborators do overlap, may be ideal to contact collaborators willing to listen
Can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations
MSPS (Scotland)
I only remembered to included to add them after a while so they have their own section.
They deal with more devolved matters (matters that apply only to Scotland)
That being said, they deal with justice and law, they can have equal power to the Westminster government as well.

The Scottish Parliament is located at Edinburgh, EH99 1SP
- Inviting an MP or Lord to a meeting or event to know more about an issue
-Mass rallying, many ( a large amount) people contact and agree to meet their MPs and Lords in advance at Parliament to discuss. To do this you can contact their Access team â 020 7219 303 and Police Operations, Palace of Westminster - 020 7219 6882 to arrange this https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-an-mp-or-lord/lobbying-parliament/
- Joining a programme: https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/education-programmes/
- Peaceful protesting
- Providing research for the cause, even if international.
Why now?
Well, if youâve read all of this, you might be wondering, why should I do it now? Thereâs a few reasons:
Having your voice is important if you genuinely believe in this. The more voices that speak out early, the more likely it is to change.
Lords are going to discuss the Online Safety Act on Monday (https://www.parliament.uk/business/news/2025/sept-2025/whats-on-in-the-lords-15-19-september/)
Even if you donât fully convince the government, you could convince others to join.
It will impact peopleâs futures.
Itâs not impossible to stop. One man canât stop it alone, but many communities can together. Inspire that change for your community, for strangers, for yourself.
