I am so sorry for being a necrophile for @knights-of-ishgard ‘s 2 years of so thought of Grinnaux and Ser Grinnaux.
Both Grinnauxs are Elezen Wildwoods.
They are in different places but it’s not like one is in Ul’dah, Doma or even Thavnair, while the other one resides in Ishgard, obviously. Anyway, Coerthas and Gridania were working together since they’re kind of “neighbours”.
Anyway, you can change hairstyle and clothes of course AND if he had a lack of scars or different ones in his face maybe (you cannot see them in the picture sadly :/) such a thing can fade in time. So imho this is not a valid reason for them not being the same person.
And cut the ears if they may be wrong, some character models changed in time, look at Estinien for example.
BUT most importante! They look (skincolour and stuff and I don’t mean the nuances between the obviously dark skin colour, ‘cause that changed since 1.0 drastically, due to the graphics and stuff. (I mean, just compare for example 1.0 Yda with ARR Yda)
AND!!! they share the same name.
Now everyone, be honest here, how many peeps do you know irl who look almost the exact same AND have the same name? I think the percentage of these coincedences are preeeeetty low.
Oh! And the Jobs of course! You can change it. NPCs can change it. I think the winner of the most-changed-job-challenge for NPCs would be Thancred who went from a bard, to a gladiator, to a rogue to a gunblader in Shadow Bringers.
So if you ask me, yes he might be the 1.0 one, atleast his reused Model. Maybe they had another purpose for him (and maybe the others too) then just being slaughtered by the Warrior of Light ™.
