So, you all know how I tend to buy cards from tcgplayer, especially when there’s a kickback. I’ve been honest about it and never really had a bad experience with any of the sellers on the site. Aside from getting two of one card and none of another one time, and then just having one card straight up missing a different time, everything has come as expected. Never damaged. Always in envelopes. Safely sent from Point A to Point B.

Until this most recent order, which I received earlier this week. The pictures above (taken by my little sister) show what happened to my order this go round, though I don’t think they all truly represent the damage. That envelope was barely functional in the front, which is why USPS put it in that plastic bag with their sorry excuse on the back. 1/3 of the cards within were damaged via a very big bend, and one of those cards had damage to the back as well. A different card also got nicked on its backside, but very minimally compared to the other.

I sent a message to the seller yesterday to see if there’s anything they can do. I know they’re not the reason the product was damaged, but I do believe that they should’ve secured it better than just sticking it in a soft Ultra Pro sleeve. Most sellers I’ve interacted with before tend to have the cards between two of those sturdy hard plastic card holders, which I think helps to keep stuff like this from happening.

But even though the monetary value of all the cards in the order is less than $6, I’m still annoyed and upset that this happened. “We hope this incident did not inconvenience you.” “WE CARE.” Yeah, right, USPS.

I’ll let y’all know what happens with the seller if they respond.

I guess I will be taken to prison by Chinese government one day, because of this art I drew, or the things I said.

I am from Hong Kong. As you may not know, this is a special administration region of China. We (still) have our own legal system, and freedom of speech, that’s why I can access to everywhere in the internet without censorship (I get ask a lot). Recently, over a million of people are protesting against the Extradition Law. It was an extremely-almost-impossible fight and many students are injured horribly by the police force. I WAS THERE.

If the extradition law is passed, which means that China can “took” anyone from Hong Kong back to China as “prisoners”. Oh you don’t wanna know what China will do to those innocent people …

The government is forcing the law on us. We couldn’t do this on our own. We need more attention from other countries. Please spread this message out.

So my boyfriend loves Vanguard and recently got me into it. I’m currently running a Gold Paladin deck but he wants me to try Great Nature. I just really love my boy Ezel and am very hesitant to switch. Which of the two do you personally think is the better deck?

I’ve.. honestly been sitting on this question for 4 days because I, too, cannot abandon my boy Harri (even though he isnt very The Best™ besides his strides and he isnt in Standard .. yet) and the only Zoo clan I’ve played was Neos which was… 5 years ago.

Afaik and played against, Great Natures do more sudden boosts in power+retires and, in Premium, focus on the Success ability (if you pass a certain amount of power you get an ability!) vs GoldPalas, they get superior calls and retires for effects and have Unite. Other than that I’ve never actually played them, so please take what I say about GN w a grain of salt Q_Q

If he or a friend has a deck you can go for, just try it out for a couple games! Or you can try to watch some fights on YouTube (maybe? it’s how I tried out granblues at least) You dont have to abandon your boy Ezel over it and you get to fight with cute lil animals with glasses and grad caps for a couple games!

trying to get more involved in the cfv community outside tumblr but there's too much. can you recommend any fb groups or pixivs or twitters or fic writers or literally anything else? thanks!

this is a difficult question for me to answer specifically because i don’t really facebook (i’m only in the north american vanguard group and even then i’m not involved in it bc it’s all about trading and selling) and i’m very cautious about jpn pixiv fandom (a lot of them are into… some things, so i tend only to retweet things my friends retweet rather than follow many of them), not to mention that i curate my twitter very carefully so i don’t even follow many vanguard fans. i guess you can check out my twitter and see what i retweet or who i follow and use that as a basis for who you want to follow maybe? 

as for fic writers, there aren’t many active ones on ao3… there’s me (you’ve probably read my stuff if you’re here on my page), a few friends of mine (who write anything from kaichi instrospection to cray-based alien characters and humans being in love with dragons to rarepairs like ibuki/aichi)

if anyone has any input then please feel free to add on, and anon, check up on any replies or reblogs of this post if it gets any

i’m very sorry for not being helpful, like, at all, but i don’t really get involved in fandom that much since my not-so-happy time in yugioh fandom… i’m much more content writing fics and shitposting with my five whole friends who care about vanguard lol good luck, friend!

The Vanguard subreddit is really good, VanGuardians on Facebook, and @ Dexander_ on Twitter collects statistics from tournaments and comments on them. (i post on Twitter, but its usually just translations or comments on art)

Twitter is overall, really hit or miss, so far I've had the best luck with Tumblr and Reddit.
