Jenny Jenkins photographed above after a long day of painting. The kitchen of the IXC house is now painted and looks beautiful, the flavor of the food spot changed overnight.
The IXC house really came alive today thanks to the help of Sean Nuccio and his boys. We painted 5 different rooms today, ate chapati and potato's and beans in the village for lunch. We took 7 boda boda's to get everyone out there, quite a funny site. Thank you to each and everyone of you for your helping hands, everything went very smooth.

Roadtrip to visit the Burundi team before departure! #internswag #roadtrip
I recently went to SeaWorld. First: if you've never been, or you haven't been in a while, or you just really like whales...GO. But anyways, while I was watching all of the super awesome shows, I was struck by how beautiful and loving God truly is. He didn't have to make our world colorful, but He did; He didn't have to make millions of species of animals, but He did; He didn't have to do anything spectacular for us, but He did because He loves us. I literally spent the entire day overwhelmed at how much God loves us and how incredible He truly is. So take some time today. Watch a sunset, go stargaze, do whatever you do. But take in the beauty that is our God's love. I promise, you'll be overwhelmed.
All my love,
Sarah
The past few weeks Imani has been flourishing like a beautiful flower finally getting sun after days of rain. The first team of 2013 came with 12 members and served at schools at Massi Corner and Mbewau. It was incredible to be apart of this team. It was an experience that changed the lives of all involved. The past week the interns abroad and Jenny have been busy getting supplies for the woman's program IXC and serving where ever we could lend a helping hand. It's been amazing to see this program grow and develop over the past few weeks. The women are now on their third pattern and the products are looking fantastic. Can't wait to see what the Lord has is store for this program in the coming months and years.
God Bless you all

Soaking it all up.
Here in Kenya, I have learned a ton. The Lord has shown me many things, put me in many situations and places where He has taught me so much.
Here is a little bit..
The past few days it has been so cool to meet a few other missionaries that live here full time in Mombasa that work separately with street boys. Both have taken them in and off the streets helping some to rid their addiction to drugs, get them back on their feet and back into school and/or work. These guys range from 15-23 years old.
One group of street boys we hung out with have been taken in by a young american lady in her late twenties. It is cool to see how much they respect her. They are a family. Sunday night we went out to the beach, played football and hung out for a while. Once the sun went down the boys built a bon fire on the beach and we cooked some smokies on sticks in the fire...wildly american with the ketchup and mustard! What a sweet time it was with all of them and hear a few of their stories about coming off the streets. It was great to see of glimpse of these different ministries here in Mombasa and learn from these missionaries as they love these boys so well!
Thanks a lot for all your prayers and support!

hello everyone,
I'm jake and I'm a little delayed on blogging.
I hope this find each of you doing well! I am here in Mombasa, Kenya and overseas for the first time ever and all I can say is that it has been incredible. I have had this itch for quite some time to go overseas on mission and also specifically to Africa. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but I did expect the Lord to show up! And man, has he shown up just like usual. These past two weeks have flown by so fast. We have been on the move but its been great! The people of Kenya that we have had most contact with have shown us so much love and joy. Joy is not something we just have, it is something we can choose. Back at home in America, we are spoiled with so much stuff. Here in Mombasa, many people have very little if not nothing but still, continue to CHOOSE joy. It's beautiful to watch and definitely learn a ton from.
The team for the first two weeks left today so there is just a few of us still here! We will miss the great team we had but excited to see what the Lord throws our way in the rest of our time here. Please continue to pray for us.

Imani Interns Summer 2013
Jambo friends, family and supporters hello from Kenya.
First off I want to thank each of you for taking an interest in Imani and Real for Christ Ministries, none of this would be possible without your loving support and hearts for ministry. Well to start, my name is Keith McGlothlin and I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with the opportunity to serve as an intern for Imani this summer. I work with video story telling and enjoy still photography, capturing moments and working with kids. Right now there is a team of twelve of us over here in Kenya working in schools and communities evangelizing spreading the good news of Jesus. We have had quite the experience working in the new school at Masai Corner that just opened in January this year, It was a blast working with the three and four year olds at the new school. Chris and Lisa Moore have an amazing vision for Masai corner. Right now there are just the two classes but the foundation for a three story school building has already been laid and now more fundraising is needed to finish the school. It has been incredible spending time with the kids and staff at Masai Corner and the surrounding areas. Everyone has been so welcoming as we hit the trails inviting us into their huts, feeding us mangos, chai tea whatever they are blessed to have. We talk to these folks about their lives and tell our stories of how God has worked in our lives. We have been blessed with the opportunity to pray with them and for them and their needs and concerns. The people we have met live very simply but the joy and happiness they bring everyday is enough to melt your heart.
So a little bit about the work that I will be doing as an intern while here in Kenya. As you know a group of twelve amazing individuals of all ages have spent the last 11 days serving in Kenya. My job is to document the work of the team and present it in a video project at the end for Imani. Were working on a couple other projects as well. I am working on a project with Bob Nichols aka Bobu specializes in getting water for local communities that don't have access to clean drinking water. He does this by drilling wells and he says it starts with the water. If their is good clean drinking water the lives of the community are drastically improved and this allows more time for education and for women to pursue other things beside walking many miles to get water necessary to cook, clean, drink and clean. While in Kenya I'll be putting together a video for the Women's program of Imani which was started by Jenny Jenkins. Her vision is to put these 16 women to work sewing different patterns for bags, clothes etc… as a means for them to feed their families and allow them an opportunity to learn a skill and learn english as well. I have been getting some really cool footage for these projects and look forward to seeing how the Lord uses them to promote these individual project as a way to spread the word about these programs as funding and publicity is needed to sustain these ministries. God bless each and everyone of you. Please share information about Imani and Real for Christ ministries. I look forward to producing these multimedia pieces for the glory of God that he may help these beautiful people of Kenya as they have many needs, the number one need being the hope of Jesus Christ our savior and it starts by opening the door through water, education and work opportunities. More posts to come living one day at a time the Kenya way polepole (slowly ). Please pray for our teams health and the work of our hands. God Bless each and everyone of you.

Hey y'all!
My roommate recently showed me this song and I have absolutely fallen in love with the lyrics. So often, I am guilty of aiming to please others and to make myself significant in others eyes. But that's not our purpose in this life. We were made to glorify Christ. This song is my prayer and the cry of my heart -- that I will learn to be fine with being no one to the people I'm surrounded by, that I will set aside all that doesn't embody the Father, that I would set aside my vain dreams and run towards God's plan instead -- because I'm someone to my Father and that's all that matters. Check this song out, listen to the lyrics. I hope it resonates with y'all the way it did with me.
Love,
Sarah
