It could be Boston v Montreal (where Hollanov realized they were in love earlier and are already engaged) or something closer to canon i guess with Ottawa vs Montreal after the plane incident!
In this story they both have identical engagement rings with Ilya having gold on it while Shane silver maybe? Idk much about jewelry feels claustrophobic for me(like i don't even wear earrings) and Ilya got Shane a chain similar to his necklace that has his mom's cross and his engagement ring. They wear it everywhere to have each other close even when they were far away.
So they were warming before the game started and Shane was directly under the screen thingy when it all suddenly went crashing down.
Shane froze just because okay? But Ilya who always has his eyes on the love of his life felt everything slowdown as his body ran towards Shane to save him.
If he had reacted a fraction of a second slower they both would have been flatten to the ground by the screen.
But Ilya managed to pushed the both of them away, the thing is they got electrocuted(?) By one of them many elextrical wires from the broken fallen screen.
And before they hit the ice and slid away from the debris they were both... gone... Shane being held tightly in Ilya's arms.
Because what the actual fuck just happened?!!!
When they shut down the electrical shit for the screens Hayden immediately went to his captain and bestfriend same for either Marlow/Troy depending on what team. I can't decide lol i like Marlow but I also like the Centaurs. But again either is fine.
When they got close enough it was as if they were both asleep soundly in each others arms. But it all turned to chaos when both Ilya's and Shane's bestfriend yelled for medics because both their captains are not breathing!
In the chaos no one noticed someone livestreaming from the audience just by their unmoving bodies and they caught everything in HD.
The medics arrive and each started to work on the two captains.
They had to cut off their attire to put on those pad thingies for the thing that they need to shock their hearts back to life. And because of that their identical chain and rings were revealed and live streamed but at the time that wasn't what people were focused on. They were focused on the two dead captains that the medical team are doing their best to bring both back to life.
CPR and shocking were done quite a few times before they both took a large breath at the same time and that's when the whole rink clapped and screamed in relied.
Shane and Ilya were both dissorientated when they came back to life, and in their panic they both sought out the love of their lives. Medical team and their bestfrienda were trying to get them to calm down but they weren't until the layed eyes on each other. With the gap between them they did their best to reach out and link their fingers weakly. And that's how they both got to settle so that the medical teams get to work on them again.
Not long after that Yuna came down demanding where the both of them are going to be taken, and when one refused to share Ilya's she said with a stern.
"If you do not tell me right now I am going to sue the shit out of you because I am those two boys emergency contact!" Again captured by the camera loud and clear, they all could see the bewildered looks from the medics/first responders.
So they gave the info to Yuna.
"Once in the hospital make sure they aren't separated!" She demanded while she got on the Ambulance with Ilya while David went with Shane.
And from here on out idk i just liked the idea.
After the incident the video went viral because of the matching jewelry, barely concious handholding, and the revelation that Yuna are both Shane AND Ilya's emergency contact.
WHAT EXACTLY ARE THEY FOR EACH OTHER?
