I make a point to fill all of my preschoolers with words that compliment their minds, strengths, and hearts. It isn't often I tell them I like their hair, or bows, or outfits.
Things to remember:
When no one is validating you, you can validate yourself
When no one is comforting you, you can comfort yourself
When no one is kind to you, you can be kind to yourself
When no one believes you, you can believe yourself
You can give yourself the things that you are looking for externally. You are allowed to be good to yourself.
I can be someone’s and still be my own.

Happily still snuggled in bed because a co-worker said she would take my full shift today if I would take hers tomorrow.
David rolled over a few minutes ago and sleepily placed a kiss on my forehead. He said, "We had a baby [in my dream]. We named her Alex and she was the best thing. I can't wait until we have kids." Then he fell back asleep.
We have a few more baby-free years planned, but my heart sure does smile every time he mentions kiddos!
Anybody care to take my hours the first week of June so I can actually get a break?
It's not like I'll be working 50 hours each week for the last two weeks of May since all of the after school workers are gone.

What is it about the Internet and Tumblr that makes you want to share intimate details of your life with strangers?
I have written and deleted three separate posts this afternoon because I think, "why would anyone care about that?"
(Secretly I still want to post them...)
Sometimes my heart fills up with joy and laughter for seemingly no reason.
He doesn't have to do anything fancy, or say anything romantic, or compliment my hair or clothes or my hard work. Simply by taking the time out of his day to connect with me and ask me how I'm doing makes me feel truly loved by this man.
How did I get so damn lucky?
Monday Check-In
Obsessing over: our new apartment! We have 11 days until we get our keys and can move in. For those following me on Pinterest, I will not apologize for the mass amounts of apartment organization pins!
Working on: gathering items for our garage sale this upcoming weekend. All of my free time will be spent de-cluttering and placing to the side things we no longer need.
Thinking about: my ex-best friend. I miss what we had.
Anticipating: my thesis grade to be changed from "incomplete" to an "A" so that the school system shows me as a graduate... so that then I can be an official entrant into the education program... and then I can view my financial aid status.
Wishing: we had been able to go to the farm as a class today. Boo weather for cancelling our plans (even though we desperately need the rain). Also, I miss my horse something terrible. David says he'll take me this weekend to go see her.
Oh hey my handsome 13 year old brother was confirmed today!
Joining us are my aunt, Oma, Granny, and Grampa.
(And I got some nice graduation gifts, too!)
Giving up on my “try to look cute to see David’s sister” outfit. Whatevs. This is comfy and I’m feeling fat, so here you go.

Pups are invading the bed before I’m ready to wake up, but I happily accept their cuddles! (After both of them begging to be let out to potty, of course.)
