Harry flees the nest after the war because everyone he cares about died (except Teddy but he got dragon pox and was put into a stasis) and he was getting pressured to be an auror and he had no intention of that. All the pressure built until he could no longer repress his emotions and has a mental/emotional breakdown in Siriusâ room of Grimmuld Place obliterating the room. (He doesnât know until MUCH later but it was also where he went discordant and had his sky flame buried so deep he looses it buried under his Cloud)
Even through all that he still has hope that heâll meet the partner to his âChameleon on a fedoraâ soulmark and everything will be all right.
He quickly becomes the Worldâs Best Stuntman because he canât die so he does more and more insane stunts (cus heâs kinda suicidal) and ends up with the monicre of The Immortal Stuntman which amuses him greatly.
Then the meeting of the strongest seven happens and Harry realises that the world is against him. Reborn is obviously his soulmate and heâs a complete jackass to Harry, worse than Draco ever was. Constantly needling him for things he doesnât know even when no one ever decided to teach him. Punching, kicking and shooting at him to âtest his reflexesâ.
But it was only after their first mission that Harry really realised how fucked his situation was. He had failed a task he was not given instructions for and after they had gotten back to the safehouse Reborn had layed into him. Yelling at him for all his mistakes and shortcomings and how they almost failed the mission because of him.
Harry stood, pressed against the wall with his soulmateâs gun making a bruise on his forehead, when Reborn told him, staring him in the eye, that if he fucked up like that again, Reborn would shoot him in the head and not give a second thought about it.
Harry stared wide eyed and suddenly wished that he could die, that Reborn would take the shot and as Harry breathed his last Reborn would feel the agony of a broken soulbond, that he would find the ChameleonFedora soulmark and realise that heâd killed his soulmate.
But Harry canât be killed. And Reborn didnât take the shot. So Harry just walked up to his room and crashed into pieces, sobbing with the realisation that he wasnât going to get his perfect match, the person who would take his broken pieces and put them back together again, he got an asshole that only ripped him into more pieces. The world decided to make him a martyr till he died; giving and giving and getting nothing in return.
A conversation on soulmates is had and Reborn expresses how heâs always wanted to meet his soulmate and went on an idealistic rant about protecting âherâ from everything and making sure âsheâ always has everything âsheâ wants. This is considered a pretty normal ideal in the mafia and so when Skull mentions that heâs met his soulmate he gets condolences and questions on how âsheâ died.Â
Skull tells them in no uncertain terms that they are an asshole and very decidedly still alive, Skull just hates them with the passion of a thousand suns and would rather eat hot coals than tell them of their bond. This pisses off Reborn because heâs never been bullied so heâs just like âIâm sure theyâll change if you tell themâ and Skull is just like THATâS NOT THE POINT!!! and storms out.
His view on soulmates endears him to Fon who has no soulmark and grew up in a culture where finding your soulmate was meant to complete you and so he was always considered âbrokenâ.
In the stretch till they are adults again, Skull becomes friends with Fon and Viper and somewhat friendly/mothering with Verde, and Teddy gets taken out of stasis because a cure was found.Â
Teddy is approx. the same age as Tsuna but acts older because he was raised by a cynical fake-toddler and wasnât sheltered. Skull disappeared for the 2nd half of the 30yrs to raise Teddy, but as he kept in touch with Fon, Viper, and Verde no one went looking for him (Skull felt hurt that Reborn didnât try to contact him once). Teddy is a chaotic metamorphmagus that idolizes his uncles Fred and George.
(also Skull and Fon have a side-relationship where Fon helps him through stuff and they have almost platonic sex if thatâs a thing. Theyâre friends with theraputic benefits.)

Reborn has a bit of a mental breakdown because he realises that heâs been abusing his soulmate (this is a big thing cus his father was abusive to his mother and heâd always assumed it was because they werenât soulmates. also his father was Rebornâs first kill to protect his mother)
Skull blows up at him about all the shit heâs dealt with and Reborn realises that he needs to seriously modify his attitude if he was to be at all a likeable character.
cue character development and Reborn seducing Skull occasionally interrupted with Reborn meeting Teddy and immediately wanting to adopt the little menace (this works seriously in his favour in Skullâs eyes)
It takes a long time but eventually they end up together (and reborn as a much better person) and Skull eventually accidentally sky-bonds with Reborn. (but thatâs a whole other thing)
