Social events had never been Javid’s strong suit, nor had asking people to go to them with him. As a matter of fact he quite despised these sort of occasions generally. He would have preferred a quite smoke whilst chilling somewhere comfortable in the warmth, than spending the night at some sort of ball. And yet, there he was, pushing away the urge to roll himself another jay as he closed the last buttons of his dress shirt. He continued to put on his suit jacket and place the cuffs perfectly on his shirt. Not before long, he left his homely abode and made his way towards the Castelobruxo dorms. He was highly uncomfortable mostly within this attire, but also that he looked so proper for once, even his hair that was usually a tangled mess was now nicely combed and put in place. You could say that Javid actually looked like a ‘normal’ boy his age.
Not before long he found the dorms in which Josefina was staying and there he waited for a moment before bringing up his hand to knock on the door. Javid then took a step back, nervously of course. His hands couldn’t stop fidgeting as worry seemed to flood his mind. The young man kept playing with his tie, fixing it in place, out of place and then back in place. The moment from which he knocked on the door until it was finally opened felt like an eternity.
Josefina muttered to herself absent-mindedly while she flipped through her mom’s spell-book looking hurriedly for a spell that would do something with her hair. For the life of her, she couldn’t understand how muggles did the whole “getting ready for a dance/date” thing without the added benefit of being able to magic up instantaneous results. Not that this was a date, of course, that would imply that she in someway liked Javid and she didn’t. She had just needed a date, because if Valentino Fucking De La Cruz could find some boy to take to the Yule Ball than she had to as well.
Or at least, that’s what she told herself. She sent a quick glance at the clock on the wall, cursing silently at herself when she found she was running behind schedule. Fuck. Why was she so nervous? It was just Javid, and they were at the very least friends. He was harmless and sometimes funny. This night would be fine. She would be fine. What was the worst that could happen?
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts, and Josefina gave herself a quick once over in the mirror before making her way to the door, opening it to reveal Javid. Scratch that, whoever this was was decidedly un-Javid. A suit? Combed hair? A tie? Josefina stood in the doorway, frozen in place as she blinked rapidly. Damn.
“Look at you, all dressed up in a Suit and Tie,” She said finally, as she awkwardly fidgeted in place. “You- uh, look good,” She added belatedly.
Shaking herself out of whatever trance she was in, she rolled her shoulders back and offered Javid her arm. “Shall we?” She said, a small smile growing at the corner of her mouth.
