The original SOUNDTRACK for the short FILM, ADAPTAR. Produced and performed by: Kevin Muldoon, Derek Daunicht, Brian Ludwig, Nick Imperial
Recorded from September-December 2014. A look at some examples of creative reuse of public space in Rio de Janeiro. Check out the original soundtrack at: osafastados.bandcamp.com Disclaimer: There seems to be some debate as to whether or not slaves were ever traded at Pedra do Sal. This discrepancy will be investigated and hopefully resolved.
Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, Centro, RJ. 3 December, 2013
This old Portuguese library was founded to house the private collections of several prominent Portuguese families. It was very exclusive, but is now open to the public.
I was really taken aback by the intricate beauty of this joint. I've always had this idealistic image of the perfect library in my head, though I've never actually seen it. When André took Andy and me here on a whim, I was overwhelmed to find out that it exists. And there it is. I just wish I had known about it sooner so I could have spent some time working there.
Bairro Flags, Largo da Carioca, Centro, RJ. 3 December, 2013
One artist has produced a flag for each Bairro in Rio de Janeiro. Here they are on display in Centro.
Moto-Taxi Dudes, Morro Azul, Flamengo, RJ. 11 November, 2013
These guys were working on their bikes here at the base of Morro Azul, and after I convinced them that I wasn't a cop or a reporter, they let me take a few photos of them. They sent a guy to get some Coca-Cola, and we sat around talking and drinking until the guy on the right finished fixing his bike, after which he gave me a free ride home.
Burle Marx's bridges spanning Avenida Infante dom Henrique in Parque do Flamengo have beauty and grace, but were built a little too low for some trucks, as these gouges demonstrate. I never saw a truck actually hit the bridge, but a few days ago saw the aftermath. A tall truck sat on the side of this highway, with its box ripped in half.
Skatepark Demolition, Parque do Flamengo. 10 November, 2013
Went down to the skatepark to ride, only to find that they'd begun tearing it apart. There had been some complaints about the condition of the transitions, so I'm hoping the city plans on rebuilding. Considering the amount of use the park gets, I'm assuming they will.

Rugrat. Statue Hairdressing. Praça da Republica, Centro, RJ. 2 November, 2013
Praça da Republica is a strange park in Centro. Gorgeous picturesque design has been largely abandoned by humans, but serves as home to a large community of cats, ducks, agoutis, and white egrets.
Cat Kingdom. Duck Face. Praça do Republica, Centro, RJ. 2 November, 2013
Capoeira. Feira Rio Antigo, Lapa/Centro, RJ. 2 November, 2013
