A deer and some other stuff!
I got a tube of watercolor paint and have been trying it out! I forgot entirely how watercolors work, so it's going to be fun learning again!
A species I've been kind of thinking about!
They're a desert/arid plains dwelling species that is made up of primarily scavengers - they call pull back the skin on their faces to keep bugs out of it while they're eating, like how a lot of vultures have bald heads, but more extreme. Those dots by their eyes are modified tear ducts that secrete anti-bacterial/pesticidic "tears", which stream down their face when they eat so they don't get sick and maggots in their noses and stuff! I didn't draw it, but they have shallow grooves in their face that directs the flow of the tears; different individuals have different patterns that are more or less hereditary, so you can tell someone's clan by their facial grooves!
They are an intelligent species with different cultural customs depending on region, but mostly they live in small numbers due to food scarcity. Usually 2-3, although some cultures are more tolerant at large carcasses where more congregate. Often, a group may consist of a mated pair/triad. (Although monomorphic, there are genetically three phenotypic sexes stemming from 10 genetic sexes. They can reproduce asexually, in pairs, or in triads.) They lay soft eggs, which they carry with the small pair of "arms" attached to their hips -- this is to both moderate the temperature of the egg by keeping it off the hot sand yet away from the endothermic body, and also because it is dangerous to leave the egg unattended in a nest while the parent(s) scavenge. The species is very cannibalistic and will not hesitate to consume a lost egg or the carcass of a conspecific. In fact, it is preferred, as the species universally has specific beliefs about both death and food. It is a terrible waste to not eat someone and has great personal meaning. If someone dies, usually their loved ones will eat first, followed by those who knew them less, and so on. Refusing to consume a slain enemy is very offensive!
