Hello, Jess. First of all I'm sorry, this is going to be a biiig ask. But please don't give up on me. Part I: Well, I'm one of those people you call Antis or Monkeys. Or at least I thought I was. My big problem with a fact that Sam and Cait had a romantic involvement was always about the big negative impact it would have on the show. I've waited a long time for Outlander and I don't want anyone to ruin it. Many of us think so.
PART 2: I saw some show be completely ruined because of the involvement of the protagonists. I thought that way. I thought the show was more important than Sam and Caitriona, I always thought. Until I met them face-to-face this weekend in Seattle. I don’t have the “Shipper eyes” that you have, I don’t know what that is. My eyes are only very realistic eyes, so I’m perplexed by what my eyes have seen. This is the first time I write this…
PART 3 Dude it’s so hard for me to write this…. But, they are a couple. It’s fact. They love each other. They aren’t just good friends. There is something more powerful surrounding these two people. I believe in great friendships, but this is not the case. It was not a great friendship I saw, as I always thought. They complete. They love each other. Like a man loves a woman. Like a woman loves a man..
Part 5: Today I got home and I felt bad for being so selfish. I think most of us are selfish. We don’t care about their happiness, we just want to be right and protect the show. So I reflected that Outlander is this: just a show. And Sam and Cait are people, human beings . One day the show will end, but until then what will we have done with the lives of these two people with all our expectations and all our pressure?
Part 6: So today I’m retreating from the other side. I’m not going to use instagram anymore to support Sam’s possible girlfriends. I will not send more information to ******* and ****. I deleted a Twitter account that I used to do a lot of things involving them and other people. I want Sam and Caitriona to be happy. I don’t want to feel responsible for stop them from being free to live what they feel because as I said, my eyes are realistic. And what I saw in Seattle was real.

This is fascinating to me as I never understood how someone could find the ruin my show filter as anything but selfish. Maybe because I’ve had the chance many times to see my other celeb as a person. If that’s what it took for you, anon then kudos to you for making that pivot to see them as people first. Thanks for sharing
I saw what anon saw in Seattle but I saw it a year and a half earlier in San Diego. Dude, they were MAKING OUT when they got to the top of the escalator and to the back stage door of ballroom K. I saw it with my own eyes. At that time I didn’t even know there was a denial and I was confused by all the nonsense afterward. So yeah. They’ve been a couple for a while. And they adore each other.

She’d answered the Is Sam Single question by saying that she’d spent some time on set and could guarantee that there was no time for outside relationships. Then to this, and referring to Cait as “Your wumman “. She’s been working ever since on extinguishing a fire that she helped light.

And that is all we know… did he spend time with her in Scotland? We don’t know, but people have made that connection.
Is he with her now skiing? We don’t know for sure, but people have clearly made that connection, not unreasonably so
However, the girl is not the only one that showed up in Paris, at the Louvre of all places…
Imagine that this was 6 years ago, when Cait was officially single and Sam and Cait flirted a lot…
What would you think if this was 6-8 years ago and Sam showed up in Paris and then Cait did too, not OL related, and at the Louvre after he had followed it….
Obviously you would be connecting the two, right?

Nice post. Neither of these couples qualify as MY “golden couple”, but I certainly like all these people a great deal and miss the first two.
My take on The Engagement - Outlandergate
I started believing the narrative in the beginning… the line they told everyone. Great chemistry… just pals. Then started looking. Photos. YouTube video. Things just didn’t add up. Thought ok they just are flirting tease tantalize but not acting on it. Then I started seeing bts pics … like wtf??? Plastic bottle uhh no not in the 18th century lol.
Regarding the show … such intense scenes and you kiss a co-star like that? You utter his name on your first intimate scene with him? You tell him to dance boy dance when panelist asks him about where and when was his last hot date? Uhh no.
I thought ok friends with benefits that’s plausible huh?
But then because of the fan fiction I came on here. And started following some of the bloggers. Little bit about rings. Oh boy.
Then all that stuff with Melissa Hoyer hits on Facebook groups. Huh??? Then it’s deleted. And the pics then they go away. Uhhh no dum dum this is the web thanks to smart phones and screenshots and such it’s forever
So I start digging and find various things. Including the Paleyfest 2015 and the Fife Scotland bts pics … wtf???
Then it hit me. These two are acting like newlyweds. Married.
But no wait other things I read about IFH and all that but again those rings again before that interview. And ya the words don’t match the actions folks.
Then through 2017 more ringgate or is it Outlandergate because ya it happens in season 3 too. Wtf???
I could go into more detail but ya my conclusion. MARRIED.
The engagement? Just another chapter of the obviously not together charade.
But no it’s glue I tell you. No it’s love. People can tell you to suppress it. Order or give ultimatums to do so. Threats even. But even among actors if it’s there it’s there.
You can suppress it but with natural instincts it will rise to the surface. You can’t help it.
In an animated version of Wonder Woman a line that says, “The heart wants what the heart wants.”
But don’t hate on them please folks. They may be in a situation far more perilous than you can imagine. Entertainment industry can be mean. And dangerous.
Love and truth will pesevere.
