Friendly reminder that
Witch =/= having to worship any specific God or Gods
Witch =/= medium
“Witch” or any variants in the bible were mistranslations
Said bible is not perfect in any way
Christianity and witch practices have been practiced together for centuries
Christian witches are welcome
Christian Magic
What is magic?
To understand Christian magic we must first define magic; what it is and what it can do, this post will go over the basic definition of magic and how it relates to Christianity.
Christians: In order to practice magic you must understand it first.
Magic has not always had the definition we have of it now, some see the word magic and think of malefic curses and spells, satanic rituals and blood sacrifices, but magic actually describes a very broad concept that isn't strictly defined as negative.
While the origin of the word is still contested, Magic stems from the associations "to be able" "to interact with" "to posses" in terms of knowledge and practice of spirituality, faith, worship and all other supernatural qualities.
So the word magic, describes a general concept of dealings with the supernatural, the superhuman, the mysterious, all things naturally attributed to the mystical nature and interactions with God.
So When did magic begin taking on negative connotations?
as language and Christianity developed, so did the cultures and agendas of the places it was developed in. Slowly, because of political and prejudiced reasons, the word magic which dealt with general supernatural energies began to become related with concepts of con artists, charlatans and other dangerous practices.
As christianity strayed from it's original path, the word magic was slowly separated from the inherently mystical energies and supernatural nature of God and Christian worship, turning it into dealings with demons and Satan exclusively. As christianity became an organized religion, the definitions of it's words came under the control of the powers of this world-Satan, and as men "defined" Christianity, it cannibalized itself and it's understanding of God, spirituality and enlightenmet.
Because Satan wanted control and to strip spiritual power away from the church, organized Christianity began wrongfully categorizing any and all forms of spirituality that the leaders didn't want others practicing, as something separate from God therefore making it something against God and calling it "Witchcraft" which is meant to describe only harmful magical practices. It was during these times that Satan injected confusion into the church and took many spiritual power and knowledge away from us and labeled it demonic to keep us afraid and ignorant. Once you realize this you begin to take your power back.
So what would define Christian Magic?
Since magic is a general term to describe the existence of supernatural energies we can interact with and use, Christian magic is defined as magic use under the instruction and will of God with an understanding of the world from a Christian point of view and practice.
Magic and God was never separate. forms of worship we would see as magical and witchcraft nowadays was common practice in early Christian groups, it was when power hungry men saw the power in Christianity they can use for themselves, that they began distorting language to confuse and erase God's character and turn it into something they could control and harm others with.
Part two: types of Magic and how they relate to Christianity
“You can’t be a Christian AND a witch.”
Shout out to LGBTQA+ witches. Just because some things about witchcraft are incredibly biased does not mean that they are the only way to practice.
Shout out to witches of color. Just because witchy pictures tend to use strictly pale white or white passing folks doesn’t mean that we don’t love you as much.
Shout out to Christian, Jewish, and Muslim witches. You guys can get quite a bit of hate in the witchcraft community, and a couple of those religions outside it, too. You guys are wonderful people, and amazing witches.
Shout out to disabled witches that have to modify rituals and spells to work for them.
Shout out to plus sized witches. You’re v attractive and spectacular witches.
Shout out to male witches, especially trans male witches. You’re rocking it, even if some people are assholes about it. Anyone can be a witch, after all.
Just because you don’t fit the witchcraft norm here on Tumblr doesn’t make you any less of a witch. You’re a damn good one, too.

Imbolc verses for Christian Witches
Song of Solomon(Songs) 2:11-12
For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
Isaiah 61:11
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.
Genesis 1:14
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years,
As the seasons change, remember that our God is unchanging.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
These are just a few, but hopefully they’ll get you started on your Imbolc ceremony (if you do one)
