although cat didnât want to get too attached, the more time she spent around cj, the more she interested in him she became. he was older than the people she usually dated but he didnât seem to mind the age difference between them either â after movie nights and takeout dinners, he was taking her to a proper restaurant, and she couldnât be more excited. she had arrived in a knee length gray dress with a slit up to her left thigh, tight enough to compliment her curves but still very classy, considering she didnât know where they were going. as he wasnât ready yet, she waited for him on the couch so her feet didnât suffer in impossibly high heels. âi donât mind waiting.â she replied, smiling at the light kiss. âyou look incredible, monroe, but we might have to do something about that closet of yours at some point. you canât live like this anymore, i wonât allow it.â she joked, following after his footsteps. âso, whatâs the plan for tonight? where are you taking me?â
cj couldnât help but check her out for a moment, lips curving into a smirk as he did so. she always looked amazing whatever she was wearing, but tonight there was just something about her. â youâre not gonna let me live this down are you ? maybe we can go shopping next week & you can help me find something that you approve of. â he chuckled, squeezing her waist gently. â you look gorgeous, by the way. â he smiled warmly at her, leaning down to give her a quick peck on the lips. he was about to answer catâs question, but a sudden pounding at his door interrupted. â what the fuck â hang on. â cj grumbled, sighing quietly to himself as he headed out into the hall. pulling the door open, he raised an eyebrow â surprise & confusion settling into his features at the sight of his ex-wife & kids. â nicole, what â itâs not my weekend, whatâs going on ? â he frowned at her, voice stern but still a little soft since the kids were there. he listened as she explained sheâd been called to work for something urgent, arms folded across his chest as he wondered if it was just some shitty excuse for her to have a night alone. â jesus, yeah â fine. go put your bags in your room kiddos, iâll be there in a minute. â he sighed, sending them thankfully in the opposite direction of cat.Â
scratching at the back of his neck, he exhaled sharply before heading back in to cat, an apologetic look already plastered on his face. â uh, so â my ex wife just sprung my kids on me out of nowhere & i canât exactly say no. iâm sorry darlinâ, i had this whole fancy night out planned & you got all dressed up for nothinâ. â he sighed, shaking his head. â you donât have to stick around if you donât want to. i know this isnât how you planned on spendinâ the night. â
