so there are a lot of 5sos lyrics that are lowkey really important to me but can we pls talk about about the line ‘I’ve got one foot in the golden light and one foot in the gutter’ and how fucking relatable that is and how perfect it describes living with some sort of mental illness like even when everything is going right there’s still that shadow and ‘I’m so sick of the tug of war it keeps pulling me under’ bc like honestly I know that feeling so well when ur trying and u can’t help feeling shitty when u should be enjoying life or having mood swings which are exhausting but anyways I’m done I guess there’s so many amazing lines in 5sos’ songs

self-confidence, i’m realizing, is a lot deeper than just thinking i’m beautiful and being free in who i am. it also includes being confident in my decisions and trusting myself to be committed to the things i want to do. to step outside of my comfort zone and assure myself that i will be okay in doing so. this kind of self-confidence will help me see the success i want to see.
