I just needed to share this cause this was really bothering me
As someone who watches primarily dub, Iβm defending myself because like people should be able to watch in whatever language they want for a show. Weβre all watching the same show. Weβre all enjoying the same content. Weβre just watching it in different languages.
Some people have health concerns like dyslexia or bad eyesight, some people multitask while watching, and some people just wanna watch in dub. I say we just let the people watch what they wanna watch the way they wanna watch it.
Even as a dub watcher, I wonβt complain if I watch something in sub. Like Iβm watching Haikyuu! in sub. Not the end of the world.
Iβm not trying to be rude, but I feel like itβs even ruder to say that someone watching a show meant for everyone in a different language is a red flag.
Think of that in a different context. Like miraculous ladybug for example. The whole show was created in France and is originally dubbed over in French (I think, you may correct me in the comments) but we watch it in English. That doesnβt mean weβre not enjoying the same thing.
If I read all my books in Spanish and someone read theirs in German, thatβs not the end of world. Weβre reading the same book, just in different ways.
This is really long winded now but my point is that you shouldnβt hate on someone for their preferences on what language they wanna watch something in. Itβs dubbed over so that people can watch it like that and the VAs put a lot of hard work into that even if some people donβt think it turns out great. So we need to appreciate it just the same as we do the sub because the hard work is still there and we shouldnβt be sh!tting on that
thank you for listening ππ
