The heart for love, the teardrop for sadness, the 3rd from the right reminds me of the metal att symbol from The Elementalists in choices but there's a lightening bolt in the middle so who knows? The 2nd from the right looks like a hurricane or tornado with a skull under it so maybe chaos? The first from the right looks like angel wings and the sun coming up so maybe freedom/exhilaration/happiness?

A few days ago, I saw a guy say that for once the plot seems to fit M!Rose and F!Trystan. Because of course only a woman could possibly be insecure about whether her partner wants to marry her or not. Cis men are immune to insecurity and wanting to marry their partners, I guess?

I definitely also felt like they say that because the MC is more competent and experienced and less of a damsel in distress. Sometimes I see someone ask "what are some books where the story is actually good with m!MC" and the answers are always Crimes, Blades, TH:M, Phantom Agent... You know, because being experienced and badass = male, apparently.

That being said, Crimes definitely also gets a lot of "female coded" complaints as well, most of which are... really non issues. I remember back in the days of Book 1, there were actually some people who complained that f!Trystan holds an umbrella for m!MC in a scene from Ch 1/2. Oh the horror.
