One (1) person implied that they would like to hear more about the Izuku is actually All Might's secret lovechild AU and I am here to deliver.
So firstly, I kind of really want to flesh out what exactly happened on the day of the leak. because.
all might wasn't in the country, is the thing. he was on the other side of the world fighting some Big Bad and Inko and Izuku were in a grocery store, aisle four, where Izuku was trying to convince Inko that he really could carry the bags by himself, honest.
Inko didn't even realise what was happening when the quiet buzz of the little store turned loud and excited. but then some random man took one look at her and dropped his canned tuna on the floor. clang. more people start looking now, staring, wide-eyed. "Is that-?" "You don't think-!" "It's them!" And then there is a group of people surrounding them, threateningly pointing their cameras and Inko thinks she's had nightmares that went like this before.
So the thing is that while Inko and Izuku are being livestreamed from ten different angles, the same thought is going through the heads of every single villain in the country. all might used to be kind of invulnerable, see. but now he's got this big, glaring weak point and it's literally geotagged. what do you expect them to do, here.
what happens next is the most chaotic uncoordinated city-wide relay race/chase in recent history: Inko very calmly puts a hand on izuku's shoulder to steer him out. come on sweetie. A Villain shows up. Gran Torino, who was on his way to visit his beloved grandson (with NO relation to that over-muscled fool monkey Toshinori) drop kicks him into a fruit stand. lets go we need to go. (becoming a licenced vehicle was not in Gran's retirement plans but we do what we must.)
As villains continue to converge on their location, because random civillians won't stop livestreaming them, heroes realize that they need to lock the fuck in. its absolute chaos there are thirteen different hero villain fights happening on a single street izuku's fanboy heart almost can't take it.
he keeps getting handed off to different pros because gran was not made for long-distance travel and if you think that threats to his life are going to make izuku any less of a motormouth, think again. the pros think he is adorable okay they would die for him.
Still, later he'll only remember the whole affair in flashes. The grocery bags dropping out his hands, eggs splattering on the concrete. Ingenium's tense smile. you'll be okay, kid. burning agony as a villain wraps chains around his arms that are hot, hot, hot. a scruffy looking man with glowing red eyes.
For izuku it ends when his uncle Mirai shows up in a helicopter with a demented look in his eyes. For the rest of the world, it ends when All might is there suddenly, and he's not smiling.
EXCEPT it doesn't really end, does it? Other information starts coming out.
In the immediate aftermath of the Musutafu Chase, a reporter interviews an injured Pro Hero. He looks tired, but he's smiling and bright eyed. "It was one of those moments, you know? When you see every single hero, regardless of rank, just coming together. To protect our future. It's just- it's inspiring. I was honored to be of help."
The reporter nods. smiles. "And do you have any comments about Midoriya Izuku alleged 'quirklessness' ? "
A pause. "What?" he says, smile slipping. he looks around for someone to say that they're just kidding. then. his face twists into disgust and he says, "seriously?"
(its not that he regrets saving the kid or anything. of course not. it's just that his chest had puffed out in pride when All Might's Son had looked at him with starts in his eyes and told him his quirk was so cool. Now, he feels embarrassed. Now, that praise is....less)
