I need to vent

Anxiety disorder is not this cute trendy thing to be “special”. It’s not some trivial little mental illness you can claim to have so you can be different, it’s an actual and sometimes debilitating mental disorder that actually prevents me from doing certain things in life because I get uncontrollable panic attacks.

This whole past week I’ve had so many panic attacks for seemingly no reason. Basically, what anxiety disorder does is cause these weird crazy irrational thoughts that I know are crazy but seem so real to me. Like, the biggest fear I have is myself. My mind is a scary scary place and I hate being alone in it, it’s not fun. I’m not trying to be dramatic, I’m just telling it like it is.

It prevents me from doing things because certain things will trigger it. It often switches for me; sometimes certain things will cause a panic attack for a period of time and then they will never bother me again. And it never really seems to have a REASON- it all just seems so irrational and it really really sucks.

It’s not something I can control. If I could control it I wouldn’t be having these problems at all. I wish I could just make it disappear and live my life like my brother who is blessed not to have the same disorder I do. He finds it dumb, which I don’t blame him. You don’t really quite understand anxiety disorder unless you have it.

I’m not trying to do this for attention. I don’t understand what type of attention I would get out of this anyway. “Oh this girl has anxiety I will follow her for that reason alone” like no that’s stupid. People should be allowed to talk about mental illnesses and how annoying they are without being villified for “seeking attention.”
