OH YEAH UPDATE AB9UT MY FRIENDS

they came into my room (so I could show them it) and one pointed out the thelta delta and asked if I was in a cult (jokingly) x3

but then another friend explained that it was the therian symbol and they all just was like "oh yeah"

after that I showed them my tail and they thought it was cool :D

no negative remarks about any of it! and they didn't say anything rude when I wore the tail a little while later :]

Dunno if any other physical therians/nonhumans (or any alterhumans) have this too but I can kind of control whether I feel my nonhuman features or not. Most of the time I'm conscious only of my "human self" (which isn't actually me, it's just a way for me to blend in with humans), but when I for example think about my wings, I can feel them, and when I stop thinking about them/want them to go away, they disappear. It's like this with all my nonhuman features (even scales for my dragon self or feathers for my bird self).

Can anyone else do this??

new trauma affecting an already trauma based identity is not fun.

You see, I used to be a dog, domesticated and all. I was happy like that, it was nice. But then, I met my ex. it wasn't a perfect relationship, far from it. Both sides were not mentally stable enough and the fact it was long distance did not help.

I was a puppy around him, it was nice being doted on like a domestic dog. but when we started falling out, the domestic dog part of me went with it.

Which is why my canine identity, which is seemingly fluid, went more to the side of werewolf. I could still be fluffy and happy, could still have some of those dog urges, but I could defend myself when needed. I was still a beast.

I miss being just a domesticated dog, but I understand why it changed. Slowly, I am trying to get more comfortable with being just a dog again.

I relate to this a lot, specifically with my otherchain identity (black werewolf). There was a long period in my life where I was in survival mode, and I initially picked this identity up as a copinglink. Visualizing myself as this big, powerful creature running through the forests releasing my rage was one of my few coping mechanisms for a while.

As I got out of that situation and healed, my identity changed a bit, and I held it as Otherchain (sorta between Otherlink and Otherkin) because although I didn't *need* it anymore, it still felt like a part of me. But now it was more like a silly werewolf dude, quiet, yet happy and healing.

Now, some recent things have brought back a more aggressive state. I feel more flinchy and aggravated in general, and although it's not as bad as before, it hurts to feel that part of me go back. I was doing so well taming myself, what happend? Am I really that fragile? Etc etc. But I know it will be ok, because I've weathered worse.

I've also been through some shit breakups, and it may take a while to break those defensive walls down, but you'll know yourself better than you ever thought you could once they are gone. Part of what helped for me was realizing my werewolf side was still a part of myself and deserved love like any other, and over time I started to heal and will do so again. Think Eda's owl monster from TOH, that's a way I like to visualize it haha. Just make sure that, as you heal, don't put things off. "Oh I would enjoy xyz more later on when I'm doing better." No!! Do it now!! /lh being happy and finding emotional outlets is a big part of healing, so make sure to try and enjoy yourself even if shits rough
